INTRODUCTION
German Forces Officer Corps 1940’s consist of four stages or phases that guides NCO’s on the course to become officers of the German Armed Forces 1940’s. This training goes over a four week process consisting of one phase every weekend. Here trainees will go through the following phases:
The key concepts of officer-ship
Conducting training's
Leadership during raids & establishing a chain of command
Officers test
PHASE I
KEY CONCEPTS OF OFFICER-SHIP
As future officers of German Forces 1940’s trainees must memorize and understand the following concepts:
Leadership
Leadership is an important step to being an officer in German Forces 1940’s. Being able to lead a group of men into battle without the end result being several men lifeless. To do this you must have quick decisions. The quickest way to learn this is by experience. (PROFESSOR NOTE: After you have explain all concepts do the following: Professors will take the trainees to the Bulge and teach tactics there and give battle like situations in which they would have to make split second decisions. If the trainee takes too long you will say “DEAD” and explain what they should have done in that moment.)
Patience
In combat many times you have to wait in the woods for your enemy to approach, firing early can be the end of your life and possibly other comrades lives. Waiting for the perfect time to strike is much more rewarding than striking early. (PROFESSOR NOTE: After you have explain all concepts do the following: Take them to the Bulge and give them examples of when to strike then let them experiment themselves.)
Discipline
Being able to act in a way that shows a guest/visitor know that the trainee knows what he/she is doing. This means following rules, acting ma#######nd behaving in a way fit for officers. (PROFESSOR NOTE: Give examples)
Maturity
Being able to use proper grammar and being able to control your thoughts and actions.(PROFESSOR NOTE: Give examples)
PHASE II
CONDUCTING TRAINING'S
Training's are extremely simple to teach and do if done correctly. All training's held like this but you are allowed to make your own twist and such. If you add something into your training make sure you are adding it in whilst still having organization and keeping discipline and maturity throughout the ranks. Do not be afraid to scream at your trainee’s. A way to keep trainees of the candidate interested in your training's is to make it somewhat fun for them. Easiest way to do this is by PR’s, Elimination rounds, and TDM (1v1, 2v2, etc…)(PROFESSOR NOTE: Allow them to Co-host/Observe a training before they move on.
Faces
Ask trainees if they do or do not know faces. If majority don’t then train them. If most do take the ones who do not and ask a Co-host to train them. After you have done faces then do elimination round(s).
Rifle Commands
Ask trainees if they do or do not know rifle commands. If majority don’t then train them. If most do take the ones who do not and ask a Co-host to train them. Take the ones who do and then test them on it and do an elimination round as well. (Don’t do this if the Co-host is a testing NCO.)
Target Practice
Take Trainees to the range. Let them unload an entire magazine on the dummies one by one. Then throw yourself in there and Run and bunny hop making it harder for the trainees to aim. When bunny hopping and running tell let them fire until they hit you. Then go to the next person.
Obstacle Course
Take trainees to the course. Let them spend about ten minutes trying to get to the end of the course. Make sure you watch if them to make sure they don't cheat.
Practice Raid
Line trainee’s up and either make two officers captains or make two trainee’s captains. Let captain 1 choose then let captain 2 choose until there are not any more trainees left in line. Then team one of the two teams Allies team and give them 1 to 2 minutes to plan their attack. After that time ends tell them to go and let the PR begin. You should be acting as a ref during the PR.
Promotions
All Rekruts should get promotions. JNCO’s should have a difficult time getting promotions and most likely will get their promotion through raids. Attending NCO’s should not get a promotion at all as they should go through the Officer Academy. The rest should be promoted on, in your opinion, how well they did.
PHASE III
LEADERSHIP DURING RAIDS & ESTABLISHING A CHAIN OF COMMAND
As an officer you can expect to lead a squad. In this case, you will have to make one of the following decisions. Attack, ambush, or defend.
Before a raid you will need to make a chain of command with your squad. The next highest ranking would claim command after you died and if that person were to die the next highest ranking would take command and so on.
When Attacking you will be rushing the enemy. Make sure not to expose you or your men when doing this.
When ambushing patience is necessary. In order to ambush you need to be somewhere the enemy can’t see you but you can see them. You will have to wait for the enemy to expose themselves to a point where there is no going back. Once they’ve done this order your men to fire. After eliminating the enemy you must choose to hold your position or advance.
When defending you will probably be in a trench position or somewhere near base. The way to handle your situation while in this position is to stay in cover and only come out to shoot incoming enemies.
PHASE IV
OFFICERS TEST
After completing Phase I, II, and III candidates will be up for promotion to leutnant. They will take the test by doing the following and, based on how they do will determine if they receive the title of leutnant.
Repeat the key concepts of officer-ship and explain what each of them mean in their own words.(PROFESSOR NOTE: Let them have time on what to say. It’s difficult to explain them.)
The candidate should host a training with a professor standing by and watching them host it
The professor should give the candidate situations at the Bulge and put the candidate in the defensive, offensive, and ambush positions. They should respond with what they would do and when they decide to do it.
If the candidate passes they will go through graduation and will be congratulated and welcomed as an officer of German Forces 1940’s.
*All classes will be held at the headquarters and if demonstrations are required the professor will take the candidates to a place best fitted for the demonstration. Test should take place in the following places: Primary training camp and Battle of the Bulge game.*
