Nay, an election for every vacancy is unrealistic. Appointments exist in real life for Senate vacancies (except the Governor appoints) and I believe we should preserve that practice, just not in the current form we have it. We should, instead of doing this, change it to so the caucus of which the person who resigned belonged to appoints their replacement. The Reformists are the ones complaining about the lengthy filtering period currently in place to ensure election integrity, and now you want to extend elections out to every Senate vacancy as well?

Aye — on account of a more democratic process; whereas in appointment it seems too often that it's on the basis of friendships and ties rather than those who hold the views of the people.
