I don't know if they will make another DS seeing as they made the Nintendo Switch.

I dont see the point. They are still supporting the ### ### #### as the new 3DS) and now they have a hybrid console with the switch. There really is no point. They have focus more on the console they have now and the 3DS is a bit too good for nintendo to throw away.
