So I'm going to start muscle building in 2 weeks. I'm not planning on getting crazy ripped just defining myself more and lowering body fat % I'm getting my macros and meal plan underway now, the same I'll be following then just neutral (not in caloric deficit or surplus I don't know the actual term) I have a 3 day programs I'm going to try out to start with (M, W, F Rest T, Th, S, Sun) ## ## #### days I'm doing a at home bodyweight routine so I'm still doing some type of exercise every single day. For those of you who do go to the them what are some do's and (preferably) don'ts for my first few days in the gym and all around general advice

"training for what" Mostly just overall self-confidence, living healthier, getting away from the computer, and proving to myself that I can do it. And I plan on starting back with baseball my Junior year so maybe this will play its way into that

"Just swim, it works every muscle in the body." I was thinking about lifeguarding this summer which would mean I have access to a full size training pool any time I want so that may be a possibility. But I also just generally want to lift weight to ya feel

Before lifting, warm up with some jogging and dynamic stretching, always, every day, to the point where you start sweating. This will get your body ready for physical activity and it will help prevent injury. Focus a lot on form, make sure you are doing the exercise correctly. This will help prevent injury and it will help you train the targeted body part most effectively. Since you're trying to define your body, trying doing light-ish weight for high reps. I'm talking like, uhh, 3 sets of 12-15 reps-- and I don't mean super light either, it should be challenging, but you should not be reaching a point of fatigue on rep 6. If you want a list of exercises to do, message me. Nutrition is a whole different animal, you are also free to message me for more information on that.

A lot of people I know that work out told me for the first view visits, to work on form I should just do my reps with just the bar or dumbbells. Do you agree with this or are you against that? @sev No I was joking

"A lot of people I know that work out told me for the first view visits, to work on form I should just do my reps with just the bar or dumbbells. Do you agree with this or are you against that? " Sure, that is what worked for me and it is what worked for my friends. It's not a bad idea to have someone with experience watch you lift and critique your form for your first few days at the gym. Once you're comfortable with your form and it has been 'peer-reviewed', throw on the daddy weight 😫😫😫😫 One thing that I forgot to mention is that you should have a spotter at all times. They watch you while you lift to make sure nothing happens to you, and they can also critique your form if they notice something is off. Spotters don't have to be friends, it is a ######## bro rule to spot for someone, even if they are a stranger, if they ask.
