The forum's search function is severely limited no doubt. You most likely want to search an old forum, or a group's forum (they often tag their forums with their group acronym). The search function searches for that phrase in the bodies of forum threads as well as the thread titles.
That's a problem. It creates a big cluster that's daunting to sift through, even when showing results at 50 posts per page.
I'm not a search engine savant. I don't know what other features aside from a better filtering system, but that filtering system and user interface when outputting search results does need to be changed to be a better filtering system that's easier on the eyes.
