Hey guys! Bringing in a suggestion that I think could be possibly a great change to the way the ROBLOX forums work!
By implementing a reputation tracking system for each poster, we can possibly move the ROBLOX Forums to a cleaner and brighter future.
This system would feature the very easy +1 / -1 feature.
Each time a user posts on a thread, there'll be little icons at the bottom of the post with a thumbs up, or thumbs down icon.
You can then click either of these, to rate a users post.
You liked it? Thumbs up!
You disliked it? Thumbs down!
Users can then use this 'reputation' gain for rewards.
1) Only users with an account of age longer than a year can vote, this is to keep all alternative accounts from skewing voting.
2) Users can only thumbs up / down a certain amount of posts a day DEPENDING on their CURRENT reputation.
Positive Reputation Reward Ideas
- Having a certain amount of posts will highlight your post with maybe a gold star, to signify this user is a quality poster, and may have something good to say.
- Bring back the 'top 100' posters type of gig, in the form of 'top rated posters'.
- High reputation users can create 'polls' where users can vote on the actual thread itself on a certain discussion. Think how twitter uses their polls in tweets!
Negative Reputation Reward Ideas
- Limited amount of times they can post on the forums.
- Having a certain amount of rep may prohibit the user from voting all together.
- Having terrible reputation can result in complete removal from the privilege of posting on the forums for an amount of time.
I personally think that implementing this future can pave the way for a brighter, cleaner, safer, and more quality foruming experience!
