it's probably not going to go anywhere soon but it'll probably die off eventually, people will soon realize there's no effort put into most of this lo-fi nonsense ("that's why they call it lo-fi dummy" ("that's why i made this thread dummy"))

i mean, i don't think any genre of music will ever die out entirely - especially not now - but i really doubt it's going to continue to be as popular as it is forever personally i think lo-fi can work well with certain genres (for example, shoegaze) but it doesn't sound good for everything or even most things

Lo-Fi will stay. Lo-Fi was popular, to begin with, just the live streams and promotion channels gave Lo-Fi a boost.
