unlike something like The Evil Within, FNAF does not have a story that invests players into the game (except the obviously bad theories), and also relies exclusively on jumpscares. Watch a movie like Emilie. That movie was scary, had an investing plot that got really dark, and it had NO jumpscares in it. The Evil Within associates itself way more with Emilie than FNAF could ever do.
