That's the primary reason. I'm tired of getting an endless amount of friend requests from just THOSE people. I'm sure a lot of people are (Unless I'm the only one unfortunate enough to be receiving those friend requests). I dunno if the feature already exists, but I've looked through the settings and I don't think it's been implemented, which, I dunno why. However, it just needs to be added. Even without the problem of these fake scam accounts, I've wanted to just disable my friend requests so I don't have to go through the trouble with random people who just friend request me just because.
