if you want a REALLY simple scripting language, they might as well implement Scratch about:blank

you cant make advanced things with scratch LOL

you said "easier scripting," not "advanced scripting" lua will still exist anyway about:blank

The best thing I made with scratch is a cookie clicker clone, not very advanced. Again, I did support this, but they should still keep lua, as so many people who develop already know it.

If this did happen, I would hope it would be like hyperpad.

#update on my suggestion you would be able to switch from lua to ruby scratch maybe for simple scripts and for those who dont know how to script. and maybe overtime roblox could add more languages like python and c++ ... anyways to add a language isnt easy noir fast so please be patient < this counts for me too!!! XD

This may be a good idea, but Roblox has been like this for many years now and changing this would just confuse people that have learnt the language especially and spent so many years developing their skills. If you wanted this to happen that would mean that they would have to totally remake Roblox and Roblox studio which would take quite a long time. This may also make people leave as their games would not be able to function (unless it was a multi-language script, which would break it)

motleoTV lua would be still around so it wouldnt affect people who already learnt it.

No support, I hate drag and drop with a passion. Then any idiot can start making games? Nah, this lowers the value of scripters on a cost level and the hard work and effort put into the process is put to waste just because any idiot can start to drag and drop words into a bank? Hell no.

^ Agreed. Drag and Drop will lower the value of Robux as well, since now it is easier to make with NBC, since all you'd need to do is learn some Scratch and then you are making millions of Robux.

it would be interesting to see a few different Language options so Roblox could reach out to a wider verity of game developer cause lets be Realistic here not everyone uses Lua and learning a whole new language is difficult to anyone so just give the Option to use these other Languages if the Developer decides that's what they are best with more Developers = More Profit + More Population all I'm seeing is Pros to the argument no Cons and sure it might take a bit of engine grease on your hands but what good thing is ever earned without putting in the hard work to make it happen

Drag and drop is for children, I personally don't like it, but its okay for children to start learning. I prefer the current language tho. L U A

also I don't think other languages are as easy to e m b ed to programs screw tags!

well for the drag and drop there are variants... with drag and drop you cant make more advanced scripts... i dont even think i would want that they could make functional gun BUT other things like points teams all that easy stuff that doesnt even need scripts but they would still exist as a ground for new learners(people who dont really know how to write script yet). and i think wiki for learning is not really enough they should add like questions and tests(just saying) it would be alot easier to learn language in the first place! btw thank you for critisism(helps the idea to develop) and for support!

@AmplifiedElio well you see you just made my point there Lua is your Personal Preference some people may think other languages are easier to use but if roblox made it so that all these languages are available to use if you don't prefer their Default Lua

#219644295Saturday, June 24, 2017 8:41 PM GMT

@misthero21 its easier to learn scripting when the tutorials aren't being designed to to screw with your mind... like most lua tutorials that roblox provides could be alot simpler but they decide to do things in a way that ranks the hardest to follow

@Judess, agreed. More R$ to the devs and more people playing and buying robux.
