LVCC RULE Proposed by Councilman Raps on July 1, 2017 Currently, there is a major, unethical loophole: Mayors can veto removals. Although I greatly trust our current mayor, I cannot say I will trust all future mayors. If passed, the following will become a rule: “The removal of any council member, council president, deputy mayor, or mayor will not need a signature from the mayor and will be immune to vetoes. Effective July 3, 2017."
