Yeah so quick question... Me and the owner of the game he's making were arguing about how terrain water will be bad. He was gonna make simple blue colored foil water because he would say it would be less laggy. He also said it was going to be easier to script ships on. I help make the terrain for this game and I like aiming for aesthetics and beauty instead of things being laggy. If you can't handle robox then that's what you get for having a cheap PC and you're just gonna have to deal with it. So my question is, Is terrain water laggier than water made from bricks, and Is terrain water harder to script on then brick water? I'm just asking this to prove him wrong.

i don't do that much with terrains but i feel like the scripts and the game would look better with the water terrain and it wouldn't be that laggy because if you do brick water the (brick/block) water will be stiff and will not have waves and so on and so forth, i would say no, the water terrain would not make the game laggy.

Yeah but i was gonna make a vast ocean which will take up more processing power.

I have a somewhat vast terrain ocean in my Steampunk place. It doesn't lag on my 2 year old computer. How about yours? https://www.roblox.com/games/419228663/Yeah-steampunk

The only reason it lags is cause your steam ships have too many entities...

tbh depends how much you use a large amount can lag lower end computers but a small amount shouldnt lag anyone part-made water can look good if you use transparency/reflectance and what not so i wouldnt just throw out the idea builder/scripter/designer | 160m+ visits on games ive worked on
