Basic Training
---------------
The purpose of basic training is to allow a draftee to raise to the rank of a private soldier. A private knows the basic drills and functions of the army that is needed for further, more complicated brigade level training.
---------------
Sergeants are encouraged to be the instructors of these basic training to improve their confidence and leadership abilities, though they are also encouraged to be supervised by a commissioned officer who also has the power to promote the trainee's.
---------------
Stage one - static drill
Static drill is a series of smart movements formed by a body of soldiers with the purpose allowing soldiers to be able to get use to following basic instructions.
Before starting static drill, a drill instructor should address the body of troops with "ATTENTION!" - Teach the body of troops to respond with "YES [RANK/SIR]!" - The purpose of this is for the drill instructor to know who is paying attention and who is potentially away from their keyboard.
From here, a drill instructor may call out a series of commands which are to be followed by the body of troops in a smart and soldier like manner. These commands are listed below.
"RIGHT TURN!" - On receipt of the word of command, the body of troops will move ninety degrees to the right of their current position
"LEFT TURN!" - On receipt of the word of command, the body of troops will move ninety degrees to the left of their current position
"ABOUT TURN!" - On receipt of the word of command, the body of troops will move one hundred and eighty degrees from their current position
"RIGHT INCLINE!" - On receipt of the word of command, the body of troops will move forty five degrees right from their current position
"LEFT INCLINE!" - On receipt of the word of command, the body of troops will move forty five degrees left from their current position

Stage two - obstacle courses
In a standard camp, there will usually be at least one or two obstacle courses to be used for basic training. The purpose of the obstacle courses is to allow trainees to become more agile and more in control of their character. This is useful in combat situations. Obstacle courses are also a good way for trainees to learn team work and discipline.
Form your trainees in two rows, and make it clear that the men at the front of the rows are to go when they are given a signal, and nobody else. Allow a safe clearing between the men currently on the obstacle and the men preparing for the obstacle to avoid collisions and obstructions.
---------------
Stage three - basic weapons handling
The purpose of basic weapons handling is for trainees to be familiar with the weapon systems used by the army.
Bring your trainee's to a class room. Talk about the M14, how many rounds the magazine holds, the calibre of the weapon etc. Answer any questions.
Bring your trainee's to a range. Make sure each trainee is in his or her individual lane. At no point should a rifle be pointed anywhere else than down the range.
Range commands
PRESENT ARMS
GROUND ARMS
FIRE [X] ROUNDS TO THE TARGET IN FRONT
RELOAD
PREPARE TO ASSAULT
ASSAULT - When told to assault, trainees are to charge forward whilst discharging every round in their magazine. They are NOT to reload unless instructed to. Once every round has been discharged, they are to halt.
Once a trainee has finished discharging the rounds he has been told to fire, the trainee is to declare that he is finished like so;
"RANK/SIR, I HAVE DISCHARGED [X] AMOUNT OF ROUNDS TO THE TARGET INFRONT"
---------------
Badges of rank
Before graduating their basic training, trainees are required to know each and every rank in the US army. It would also help if they are able to accurately describe the insignia for each rank. This lesson is to be taught in a classroom.
Examples of questions you can ask to test your trainees;
Q) What is the first commissioned officer rank?
A) Second Lieutenant
Q) Describe the rank insignia of a corporal
A) Three chevrons
---------------
Graduation
Once these basic skills have been taught to your trainee's, you may promote them to the rank of private. As a private, it is now the goal of a soldier to look for a brigade or a division to be assigned to. From those levels they are able to graduate to higher ranks and participate in more complicated training.
