To be completely honest, Free modeling is for the most part ok, as long as you don't use too much and you keep the feel of your game original. If you free model a lot of stuff, you can tell the difference between if it was made to fit the game or made because you were bored ( free modeled ). Most games ( #########################iving at Quill Lake ) have some free modeled tools like the flashlight, anchor, and even the scuba suits are in the tool box. But the developer knew how to implement it into the game to make it have the scuba feel. Basically, if you're gonna free model, make sure to either find the right models to fit your game, or edit models. If you take them directly out of the toolbox guaranteed people are gonna tell you're game is free modeled and expect the entire game to be.

Depends on the games purpose, if you're using free models to 'develop' then no. If you're using them to teach yourself to build, sure go ahead just don't advertise it.
