This handbook, created by Lord Rodrik Harlaw, is meant to guide soldiers on how to conduct themselves while serving House Harlaw. All listed passages are mandatory, and if not followed, might even result in expulsion from the military. The handbook will cover matters such as the name template, the titles of both superiors and inferiors, grammar, and things of the like. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 1 - Name Template To insure that all House Harlaw soldiers have the same general name appearance, Harlaw has provided the following template. The template must be used at all times, and should never be changed while serving the house. Line 1 - [First Name] [Last Name] Line 2 - House Harlaw Line 3 - [Rank] Line 4 - “The Scythe in Hand” For example, a Footman might use the following. Line 1 - Edward Gontan Line 2 - House Harlaw Line 3 - Footman of Harlaw Line 4 - “The Scythe in Hand” If you’re a Knight or above, put “Ser” on Line 1 before your first and last name, like the following. Additionally, you must set all name color option numbers as 0. To create the spaces in between lines, simply hit “ctrl j”, and resume typing. Remember to update your rank regularly as you receive promotions, so that your title corresponds correctly. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 2 - Titles and Addressment It can often be confusing to know what to call your fellow soldiers, what with so many ranks and titles. This section will help you know what to call, so you don’t mess up and face the wrath of a superior. The list below will tell you what to call each rank. [LR] Footman of Harlaw - “Footman [Last Name]” [LR] Man-at-arms of Harlaw - "Man-at-arms" [LR] Sergeant of Harlaw - “Sergeant [Last Name]” [LR] House Guard of Harlaw - “Guard [Last Name]” [MR] Squire of Harlaw - “Squire” [MR] Knight of Harlaw - “Ser [Last Name]” [MR] Iron Guard - “Ser [Last Name]” [HR] Iron Guard Commander - “Commander [Last Name]” [HR] Master-at-arms - “Master-at-arms” [HR] Council of Harlaw - “Ser [Last Name]” Lord - “M’lord” or “Lord [Last Name] Lady - “M’lady” or “Lord [Last Name] Remember to always use the correct title for who you’re addressing. Calling someone by the wrong title can be quite the offense to a superior. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 3 - Grammar and Typing Grammar is of the utmost importance, as it maintains professionalism and unity. When typing, both while on duty or off, it is necessary to use completely correct writing. Strict punishment will be served to those who deny this rule. Complete sentences and correct punctuation must be used at all times. For example, each sentence must end with either a period, question mark, or exclamation point. Commas should be used to correctly format sentences, and capital letters should be placed at the start of sentences. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Closing If you have any questions, please direct them to a superior / high rank of House Harlaw. Remember, these handbooks are the cornerstones of our soldier structure, and should be often referred to. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Lord Rodrik Harlaw
