Real Change
It's something Las Vegas hasn’t seen in awhile.
Fellow citizens of Las Vegas,
For much too long, we have been misrepresented in our council. Stripped of proper ways to voice our concerns, only watching OUR city council destroy itself within its entirety.
I am here once again, for the 3rd or so time to declare my candidacy for Mayor of Las Vegas to bring back the city council to its former glory as it was many terms ago.
As a former Deputy Mayor, Councillor, and Police Chief for this fine city, I can assure you that Las Vegas deserves better. I’ve been a federal judge, I’ve worked in the White House, a bunch of other positions, and quite frankly I’ve worked in every agency the United States has to offer along with every sector of government. I know how run things and we need someone running the council who knows how to run it, and run it good.
If elected as Mayor, I plan to actually work with my city council. We need to put political parties aside and assure the public of the council's stability that it truly can have. We need to once again implement a proper way for suggestions to be submitted, compared to attempting to reach out to a councillor individually.
When a request is submitted, it can be reviewed by a councillor first then the councillor can reach out to the person if needed so they know attention is being
brought to their suggestion.
We need to have public conferences where the Mayor addresses their people and answers questions, compared to attempting to track down the person and hope they are not ignored.
The Council President Weekly Press Release is often slacked off on. I intend to work thoroughly on either making sure the Council President does their job or abolishing the position and making it a task of the Deputy Mayor, as their position lacks much power other than being an influential person and an understudy for the Mayor. I remember when the Council President position was first created pretty much officially - I was there when the rank was made. It was AsheinVI who was fully known as the first real Council President, before that, the position didn’t really matter and everything was fine.
In regards to crime, it seems that there is a drop but there's a high. Usually, people are just spawn killed at visitor spawn or criminals only attack to kill when large amounts of people gather. But then again, organized crime attacks such as robberies and prison breaches are down. While it's good that crime is down in a perspective, development wise, that's kindve bad (see what I did there.). We need to direct local law
enforcement to help train their officers to patrol more around central areas and spread out to servers with less players that way they are protected. However, we somewhat just got out of a phase where we tried to get people to patrol everywhere in Las Vegas, the areas not so populated - so we need to ensure that all areas are covered some way, some how. On the note of making an equal divide of random crime and organized, I believe working with the council and development ideas for possible ways of crime could happen.
On a development note, I do believe that we need to work with the public much more to implement more buildings and structures that come WITH PURPOSE. (See my section above in regards to crime.) A good example of a useless thing being added would be Trump Tower. While it looks nice, it's a huge structure with no capability of doing anything. I don't see the need to remove it, but we could possibly do something with it so that it has some purpose other than looks. Past Mayors and Councillors have complained about the developers lack to work with them, however, I’ve done it before just fine. You have to know how to work with some people and that can take time, and I’ve done my time and I know how to work with the developers.
I would like to implement better standards so the Las Vegas City Council keeps up with its local agencies and businesses so that they continue to perform well. I can do this by creating a bill that implements liaison positions to agencies and businesses or if need be individual agencies and individual businesses. Of course, I’d always remain in contact with everyone - however a liaison will set a more professional standard and give more people for the business and/or agency to talk to in regards to keeping up with the council. This also makes it easier for the council to get updates on agencies/businesses since they can ask the liaison. The liaison can do some sort of weekly or bi-weekly report on how the business or agency is doing.
Every election, it seems that the people we elect have failed, let's change that for the better. Vote me and we can get the job done right in the first place.
I'm not going to make a plan and wing unless I know I can accomplish it even if its in the long run, and I have the experience to know if I can do so.
tl;dr - my 3rd time running for mayor, been deputy mayor+councillor+local official multiple times and ready to represent the ppl fully and achieve good goals without letting the public down like others have.
