A game designers job is to sell an idea to you but what you are buying is the work into it. Work such as designing the maps, how the game functions, how it will earn money, what color schemes and styles, and generally every aspect of the game out on paper for you. The design will be guaranteed to be a hit so long as you make it according to the designs perfectly. This requires you to have ability of scripting and building together to make this game and a game designer does not supply this with the game design.
small games that are simple starting at 10k
medium level games that make money are complex system wise and will cost average 25k
larger games that are very complex will cost 50k +
and games that are very complex large and are original ideas that can make back lots of money can cost up to 70 to 100k to design!
