I mean, when something gets deprecated, it does stay in the game, just another, more useful method is out there, so do they delete the old method, and why? -- I mean its a way of getting people to use better things, and it is a good thing, but why would they completely delete an old way of doing something? ざわ‥ ざわ‥

My point exactly, why not make both parties happy.

They don't delete it so old games still have a chance of being playable.

No Roblox intentionally wants to break old games, there was this old rollercoaster maker that I really loved playing but its broken now due to Roblox "Updates".

The creator said it was deprecation most of the scripts dont work now, and he doesn't really come on roblox anymore to update games so its broken. :(

"why not make both parties happy." Because they can't prevent exploits without removing LoadString. And they also can't add brand new, reliable, powerful DataStores and still spend countless man-hours (all company money) on data persistence, which doesn't make them a dime and breaks every other week. It's impractical, and they don't have unlimited manpower. I would agree with you, if it wasn't new updates breaking old things. If nothing they did broke old things, then there's no reason to remove old things. Deprecation is a suggestion not to use it because it's old and can break at any moment because it isn't worth their time.

Here's the problem: If you need to implement a new or better feature that could replace existing features, you don't want to just delete the old ones. That could break a lot of code. Therefore, developers "deprecate" things, which is basically a weird way to say that it is now obsolete. An important note is that deprecated features are NOT SUPPORTED. This means that if an update breaks it, it's broken and will not be fixed. It also means that future added features will in no way be built to accommodate deprecated features. -------------- At the end of the day, deprecation exists because it's not straight-up deleting a feature. It gives developers time to implement the new features without having their current games or software broken right away. It is extremely bad practice to continue to use deprecated features. Don't do it.
