Jake slogged through the cool water, salt stingins his cuts. His soaked clothes drooped off him heavily as the hot sun beat down and sand filled his shoes. He trudged up onto the beach and collapsed utterly exhausted. |

After resting a few minutes, Jake got up and wiped some sand off him. His backpack was still on, that was good. He lloked around and saw noting but sand, jungle, and ocean. The palms swayed in the breeze, and birds chirpped in the dense brush just off the beach. He saw a stream running out of the forest and walked over to investigate. |

The stream was fresh, so he followed it to a pool in the jungle. He drank from it, then took off his clothes and washed the salt and sand off. He then rinsed his clothes and hung them from branches in the sun to dry. |

I woke up stranded on an island. I thought I was having a horrible nightmare. I pinched myself and squeled. This wasn't a nightmare... it was real.
"Oh no..." I gasp. "Where am I?" |

After his clothes dried, Jake dressed and started looking for food. He was starving from the swim. There was little fruit in this spot, none that he recognized. |

I walk ou of the jungle near where (bloominangel's character) was lieing. I saw her and rushed over. "Are you ok?" I asked, alarmed. |

I got up and looked at the girl standing above me. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said, quietly. "Nice to see I'm not the only person stranded here." |

After walking a ways, Jake saw a banana tree. "Yes! Delicious!" Jake yelled, delighted. He struggled to climb up and get to them. |

After climbing the tree, knocking down a hole bunch, and gorging on the bananas, Jake put his mind to building a crude hut. It was made of dead palm limbs and fresh leaves, to keep off rain. The actual floor was raised a little off the ground. |

Jake started making a fire, using two sticks, but it wasn't working. Soon it got dark and he abandoned it for the day. He slpet in his hut. |
