Together, with our affiliate departments, we coordinate to provide safety resources and information, as well as improving the quality of services being provided by our affiliate departments. The department is often responsible for acting as an administrative department towards our affiliate departments. Together, the Public Safety Administration and the Executive Administration work to provide better quality safety to all citizens, and visitors of our state. Department Goals The Teton Department of Public Safety cannot succeed if we do not have goals set for us to accomplish. These are some of our goals at the moment: Maintain a good r 3 l @ t ! o n ship with the Public, and Affiliate Department Employees, Maintain an active and m a t u r e w o r k force for our department, Respond to statewide, and department emergencies in a timely manner, along with the proper procedures, Regulate affiliate employees effectively without stopping their operations more than needed, and, Ensure safety is provided in our community. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section II Regulations between Departments/Offices There are 3 levels of regulatory documents that can be issued. One is the Public Safety Directive, one being a Public Safety Act, and the last being an Office Regulation. Public Safety Directives Public Safety Drives are documents that hold force overall affiliate departments. Directives are only issued by members of the Public Safety Administration. Public Safety Acts Public Safety Acts are documents that hold force overall Public Safety Offices. Acts are only issued by members of the Public Safety Administration. Office Regulations Office Regulations are documents that hold force over a specific office within the Department of Public Safety. A Compliance Regulation does not affect the Office of Emergency Management. Regulations are only issued by the Deputy Directors and above of each office. Members of the Public Safety Administration may also write Regulations. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section III Offices within the Department of Public Safety Office of Emergency Management The Office of Emergency Management is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and responding to state emergencies. This includes any State of Emergency issued, along with emergencies like rogue officers. They also coordinate with other departments to make plans for possible emergencies that may occur at major community events. Office of Compliance The Office of Compliance is primarily responsible for acting as an investigative department between all affiliate departments. Employees may be investigated, as well as departments may be audited by these employees. These employees also issue disciplinary measures. Office of Community Safety The Office of Community Safety oversees multiple operations that are designed to help the community keep THEMSELVES safe, without having to always go searching for law enforcement. This includes a Crimestoppers program and a Citizen Safety Council program. The Crimestoppers program is a program that allows civilians to provide anonymous tips about gang activity, ongoing crimes, future crimes, or provide details about previous crimes. This information is then forwarded to the relevant department to ensure the safety of the public. The Citizen Safety Council program is a group of citizens that are well trusted by the community, and are willing to give out ideas to improve the safety of the community. These citizens attend meetings scheduled by the OCS, and report their information, along with their ideas. This program is completely voluntary. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section IV Academy Information To become an employee with the Teton Department of Public Safety, you are required to go through an academy to learn how to do the job. To begin this process, an Academy Entrance Exam may be sent at the universal application center to become pending for our program. This Exam tests purely your ability to speak English, as well as giving background information. If you pass the Entrance Exam, you will be notified, and ranked to “Department Applicant”. While you are in this rank, you are required to wait until a session for you desired office is held. There are 4 different sessions that can lead to employment: Technician Certification Session (OEM) Officer Certification Session (OEM) Inspector Certification Session (OC) Agent Certification Session (OCS) Each session contains different information specific to that specific job. Following the session, you will become certified for the office you attended the session for. After being certified, contact the Director of the office you wish to join, and they will be able to direct you further on how to join their office. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section V Group Ranks This section will list each rank name, and what they do/are responsible for. Citizen Free rank. Any Middle Class Citizen can achieve this rank. Department Applicant Citizens that have passed the Academy Entrance Exam. People in this rank are waiting to go to sessions to become a Public Safety Employee. Executive Administration The Public Safety Administration is a board filled with the Department Heads/Deputy Heads. This board meets and coordinates about important issues regarding the safety of the public. Public Safety Employee Employees or Supervisory Employees in one of the Offices within the Department of Public Safety. Director Directors or Deputy D i r e c t o r o F o # E o f the Offices within the Department of Public Safety. Associate Secretary Oversees the Department’s Offices and Operations. Deputy Secretary Oversees the Department’s Offices and Operations.
