Illinois DOT Tools and Equipment

Illinois DOT has many tools that employees can use to do their job easily and quickly. These employees are trained to the very best to make sure they are using these tools correctly and making sure they are helping the citizens of Illinois the best they can.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
During your first tryout for either Road Maintenance Services or Towing Services you will be trained to use all of the following equipment. During every training, you will sharpen your skills on how to use it.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Cones: Cones are used to close lanes and to re-direct traffic from an incident/scene. They are also used for when roadblocks are requested. They are not to be placed in random spots. Cones are used by Towing Services and Road Maintenance Services. If a member that is blacklisted from using cones is caught using cones, the member will be blacklisted from DOT altogether.
Stop Sign / Slow Down: Signs are used to tell traffic to slow down or to stop. Only once you have placed your cones you can use the sign to direct traffic. Only Road Maintenance Services can use the sign when driving the HERO truck, NOT the plow. In DOT our main goal is to keep traffic flowing, so we shouldn't use the "STOP" part often or use cones to block off a section of road without a detour (alternative route). Keeping in mind, we should have all roadblocks approved.
Gas can: Also known as Jerry, are a quick and easy way of filling up a car but is only to be used in emergency situations when a vehicle is fully out of gas. Jerry Cans will NOT be used to fill up someones car if they already have gas. Jerry Cans are to be used by Road Maintenance Services in the HERO truck.
Warning Triangles: Used to warn civilians of incident ahead. The Warning Triangle is used when an accident has taken place, it is to notify citizens driving by the triangle that something has happened ahead, and that they must drive carefully. ALL staff can use this tool.
Tire Inflator: Used to help people with busted tires. This equipment must ONLY be used on tires which have been popped. Make sure you are not assisting a criminal with this equipment. If you do assist a criminal with this, you WILL be suspended in DOT. This equipment will be only be used by Road Maintenance Services in the HERO truck.
If you abuse ANY of these tools, you will be suspended for 7 days, second offense would be a blacklist from DOT. As stated before, if you abuse cones, you WILL be blacklisted from using cones.
