Calypso released him, and took his apprentice. She gave him a girdle of good cloth, and told him that while he was in the sea he would not be harmed if he wore it. But as soon as he reached land, he must throw it back into the sea. |

Cutting through the swathes of plantlife, whatever it was, Charnelshadow looked about with greed in his eyes. This was the place, he told himself, where the first gem should be. And sure enough, there it was. Lying on a peadastle in the middle of a clearing was the thing he was looking for. The first gem of Sharketh 'la, the snake demon. Charnel stopped himself from rushing towards it. Surely a gem as preacious and as powerful as this would be left on its own for anyone to take?
Charnel picked up a stone and threw it into the clearing, the minuite it touched the ground, it dissolved.
"hmm, you want a challenge?" he muttered to himself, "well you shouldnt have done it with me." |
