The X2-MF was being worked on, the medium laser cannon turret vehicle was being tested with some new designs. A lighter and more advanced alloy was being used on the majority of the vehicle, a mix of alusteel and titanium, to reduce weight, increase speed and allow it to carry the heavier turret. Instead of the 145 Medum Laser Cannon, a Larger 901 Heavy Cannon had been mounted on top. It still required three men to operate, but it could now go faster, with a more powerful and reliable engine, the previous one had required too much maintenance, and needed lots of mechanics when deployed in the field for more than a few months, the new engine and parts required just 25% of the original 60 man mechanics team for a company, 15 mechanics and multiple astromechs, usually R7 and R2 series types. |

The 2-M and the Wolf were going to be overrun soon, the Tie Interceptor had already been badly damaged so he'd dropped low and led the fliers on a frantic chase, causing lots of them death when he executed an extremely dangerous maneuver. They wouldn't last long, unless.
"ISD Shock, commencing Danger Close bombardment." The ship opened fire down to the ground, hundreds of the aliens were killed with the first salvo, giving the men a chance to pull Hark out, and for Hepden and Hill to grab on tight to the 2-M tank, holding onto Hark, with all guns blazing, as it pulled away. |

The problem with that is that there were no hundreds of them, only thousands.
The aliens quickly surrounded the troops, creating thick barriers and closed on them, tearing them apart with their claws |

Scout Recon CW-X68 was piloted by Shale Necro. Shale got a lock on a large group of creatures, and selected a test weapon from his armaments. It looked like a Fission Shell with a yellow head. On contact, it splayed high voltage, low current lightning over a similar area as a Fission Shell, but it was only useful for infrantry. In the MFSL, one of the two cannons were going to fire these. And now Shale fired his, and it hit dead on. The creatures were shocked into spasm, and collapsed unconcious. [Or whatever qualifies as unconcious to them.] |

The ISD Shock kept firing madly, the crews so well trained they hit Aliens every time, or maybe that was the numbers.
"Fire the Missile Launchers!" The Driver yelled at the Commander, who yelled out back
"Heck ya!" The launchers fired forwards, blowing a path through the aliens for the Tank, and they crushed those still in the way, the repulsorlifts underneath crushing their bodies. |

The creatures continued to swarm at the troops.
Meanwhile, several small flyer creatures flew towards Shale at an alarming speed. One of them collided with the ship and exploded, spraying acid everywhere |

The cloaked Manipulators closely watched the strange organic fleet and units. A duo continues on, while the other four head back to the others at the ship. |

The 2-M tank kept firing, the deflector shields helped stop most of the swarm too, the three Air Controllers fired, even Hark, though his were random shots in a random direction most of the time. The Interceptor finally came down to cover, as they became only 500m from the Landing Zone. Then the rest of the 2-Ms opened up, five medium lasers, five anti-infantry cannons and ten missile launchers were all firing at the aliens, cutting down the lines, fliers were engaged now by the remaining cannons on the Judgement and by Interceptors returning to base. It was slaughter for those who still charged, a few other vehicles had arrived, and were firing madly at anyone who dared get near the 2-M with Hark on. |

"Aww, damm! I just got this ship painted!" he yelled at noone in particular, and accelarated past Mach 1. The outer layer had burned quite away through the outer hull, but the high speed blew it off pretty sharpish. He slowed back to Mach 0.25, and fired off another ShockShell. He resolved to speed up every time he had finished firing. |

The creatures were adapting to this strategy, as they began to surround the ship each time it fired |

The MK2 suddenly blasts out of the madness dimension, directly over the ship. It immediately slung itself forward, towards the creatures. It was uncloaked, and it's body was rippling with strange organic plates.
The Cloaked Manipulators detected the incoming MK2, but did not act immediately.
The duo searched for scraps of flesh anywhere on the planet, or evidence of the creatures.

(Ultra, it's a huge 1km long or so ship, with around 4,000 or so troops and lots of vehicles around the area, so you're not gonna get it.)
The 2-Ms retreated, but as they did, more vehicles joined them, and people with any weapons available, the ISD Shock kept bombarding too, causing the deaths of many aliens, it seemed like there were more though still. |

(So, they adapted. They still can't stop the acid being blown off.
Of course, Shale wasn't the only Scout Recon pilot carrying the test shells.
'Serious hull damage' read the screen on the console, so Shale pulled up after firing his last test shell. Well, they had confirmed thery worked. |

The SMCers in the base picked up more signals. Apparently they were underground... |

One cloaked Manipulator on the Space Hulk suddenly shot forward, towards an SMCer of the group.
The duo continued along.
MK2 continued on his descent to the planet, folding his arms over his 'face'. His tail flailed wildly. |

As soon as the Dominion fleet entered orbit, several dropships were detached, and sent to the planet...
Strange, umbrella-like versions of the creatures flew towards the ship trying to escape. They fired needle-like bones at them, killing or wounding anyone that got hit |

The little console screen switched warning to 'hull impact'. Shale had to get out, quick as possible. He went to Mach 3, and outran the needles by at least twice speed. He left the troposphere, and then almost as quickly the stratosphere. |

The MK2 twirled a bit, as it rapidly sped towards the ground. It rapidly morphed into a large cube of an unknown metal.
The cloaked Manipulator on the Space Hulk slammed it's claws forward, towards the SMCer's stomach. |
