I see. She wants to help the other Cyndaquil... but you can't interfere with a pokemon battle unless it's for a good reason... |

Heh. I got an unfair advantage, though, because I trained my Sandshrew. I went back home, Sandshrew following me, and told Mom about the whole thing. |

"I'll be ready," I responded. I headed back home with Cyndaquil on my head. "I'm back!" I said to mom.
"Your back, with a cute pokemon on your head!" Mom answered.
"It's a Cyndaquil. Prof. Elm gave her to me for an errand of some sort. He said to be back in an hour."
"Would you like to nickname it?" Mom asked.
"You mean give it another name?" I questioned. "I dunno... how about Cynda?"
"That's a good name!" Mom replied.
"Cyndaquil!" Cynda cried. |

I arrived at home and Mom saw me and my new Pokemon. "Viridian! You have a Pokemon!...And it's already fainted...Umm...just go rest in your room, honey. You can tell me about everything later." I sighed and walked up the stairs. I sat on the bed and put Cyndaquil on my pillow. |

I wake up and look at the clock. "OH NO! I woke up late again!"
I hurriedly get up, ruffle my hair, wolf down some breakfast, brush my teeth, and run out the door. |

Mom answered, "Great."
I replied, "I'll call him Deserto."
"Sandshrew!" Deserto cried. |

"...So that's what happened. Viridian got into a battle with Cerluean, and his Cyndaquil fainted." I finished explaining.
"And he entered the battle with a type disadvantage..." Mom said.
"Cynda!" Cyndaquil cried. It seemed to be answering Mom. |

Halfway to Prof. Elm's lab, I realize that I forgot Happiny at my house!
I run back, grab her pokeball, and run to Prof. Elm's lab. |

I got some more food, healed Deserto, and headed out back to Elm's lab. |

Some time passed, and Cyndaquil seemed to be better. He was playing around the room. Haha...he got..a bandana stuck on his head? I walked over. Yup, a bandana. Haha...I took it off and he seemed to be looking up at it. I looked at it and tied it around his neck. I looked at him. Heh..perfect. I walked downstairs with Cyndaquil. |

When Cynda finished eating I decided to head back to the lab. "I best be going, mom!"
"Bye, Edge!"
I put Cynda on my right shoulder and went back to the lab. |

I gave Deserto a yellow cap, and entered Elm's lab. |

(Sometimes. I always put some identification on my first Pokemon.)
..."So that's what happened." My Mom said. "That's a shame..." She looked at the time. "Well, you better be going! Have a nice time Viridian!" I smiled and ran out the door. I ran to the Lab. |

Along the way, I decided to give Cynda my old baseball cap. It had a picture of a flaming baseball on it.
"Cyndaquil!" Cynda cried. She seemed to like the cap. |

I rushed into the lab.

I ran in the door and could see I was a little late. Everyone was here. Elm was working on something, but then turned around. "Ah. There you guys are. Anyway, what I want you three to do is go to my buddy house, Mr Pokemon. He says he has something for me. Probably just a Pokemon Egg...but anyway, his house is north of Cherrygrove. My assistant there will give you each 5 potions and 5 pokeballs." Elm looked at the time. "Well, you best be on your way!" Well...that was quick. We all walked over to his assistant. |

I walk into the lab. "We are back," I said to Prof. Elm. |

I walk over to the assistant. "So, five of the starting items? That's... nice." |

I quickly took the 5 potions and pokeballs and rushed to cherrygrove. |

"No." Elm said. "Just follow them, okay? They'll explain it." The assistant looked at Cerulean. "Yes, a little head start for you all." He gave each of us everything. "Well...that's it. Best be on your way..." I took everything and rushed out the door, starting on the route. |
