Dear Ma,
I have found army life much more different than our life in Austin, we wake up early every morning to keep watch over the Union soldiers at the border. There are storys that our general, Robert E. Lee, will attack them soon, I am nervous about this and wish I could go home.

Runs out to go to my station overlooking Arlington from a small confederate garrison, (this is early time right? like when the confederates thought that Lee couldn't do anything right?p.s. he became respected after many defeats in the early time period) and looks out over the river to see a large, moving blue mass. I report this immediatly to Lee so he could estimate where they could hit. The news shocks everyone, they would hit Richmond. |

(I think Robert E. Lee would have fought for the North if he hadn't been so attatched personaly to the South. He was very tolerant of Africans.) |

As the blue mass moves on, We divide the force to go to Richmond for defence and to give them a early warning. Luckily, they had a company of cavalry ready to move out and thats what they sent. We moved out as the bugler set the tune for marching and the drums got ready to follow. This would be the real thing once we reached Richmond. (I'm doing a real battle in which Lee got famous some time afterwards) |

We beat the Union soldiers by a day, but the horseman were there 3 days before us, so Richmonds forces have been ready for some time. I join my company and we wait to see anxiously for the sentrys to spot something, one little blue dot would comfort us from the fact that we didnt have to wait anymore. |

After Speaking to the Major, I wonder if we will be able to take this town.. only if our artillery get here fast enough.... |

"Well" I tell the Major, "If we would be able to take this town without Artillery, we may have more casualties, but its your desicison sir" I salute him and walk back to my tent |

If Mr. President is allowing this, we should be doing it. Still, inside of me, I had a feeling he didn't want this to happen. |
