The reason for it is, users that have really long signatures in Forums and others who have them would cause a lot of scrolling.
And if you simply said "No." and added your 10-line signature, it would be spam. |

Well actually it would be under your post like this, And can only be changed through "Account" So that way they can't use it as spam aand would be the same without it, and also there is going to be a character limit.

I support this, it would make it easier to control how long ppls signatures would be. As EliteSpaceCommando said earlier, there should be a limmit for how many characters your sig can contain, people would not be able to make 10 line signatures.
I still haven't seen a signature longer than mine, and it's just one line long.

Ways to make it better:
--50, 100, or 200 character limit (you pick)
--If your reply to a thread is less than a line long, your signature doesn't get added
--You would get a "Confirm Signature Use." box that is checkmarked under your post, like the "Do not allow replies to this post." If you unchecked it, your signature won't be added.
--Add a "Report Abuse" button for the signatures
--Make it so you can't change your signature for an hour (it would prevent users from making something racist or swearing and changing it quickly)
Although those would prevent spam abuse, I don't think the administrators will support it. |
