Malorie I finished unpacking. I didn't have that much stuff in the boxes, the only stuff left to come was my bed, couch and TV to come. I unrolled a dark blue rug and put it in my room, then started putting my clothes into the closet. The closet was small - about the size of a window -, and it fitted my clothes in pretty well. I didn't have many. The room itself was dark blue with a dark wooden floor. I then got a small chair and started sticking glow-in-the-dark star stickers firmly on the ceiling. After that, I put up my dark blue, grey and black patterned blinds up. The removal men brought in my bed, couch and TV. I didn't have much stuff, so all my belongings fitted well in the small apartment.

I flipped the phone shut, fiddling with it and flipping around in my palms until I dropped it. I sat down, looking at the ceiling with my head against the wall, when an unwanted memory slipped into my mind. ~ "Jorge (Spanish for George.), come on. They'll give our seats away if we are late." Rita Torres called, looking for George. She found him in the kitchen, with three empty bottles of alc..o.hol next to him. George smiled at her. "You worry too much, Rita. Here, have a little drinky." He burst into fits of giggles. Rita put the bottle down. "Come on, they'll give our reservation away." George picked up one of the bottles and smashed it. "Rita, Rita, Rita." He repeated it over and over, until he started saying 'Wita'. Soon after that, he stabbed her with the bottles. And my eleven year old ran back upstairs after watching my father kill my mother. ~

My eyes remained dry, but my stomach twisted uncomfortably when I remembered. I had told Reuben, he had gone downstairs to check it out then came back up and locked our shared room door. I shared with baby Resa back then. He called the police and they took my dad. I testified, though I broke down in the middle and had to be taken out of court. My dad got given a ten year sentence, but was let out early for good behaviour. He only served four years, during which Resa and I were passed through foster homes like second hand toys until Reuben got custody. We were fine - he'd work while we were out, sending Resa either to a friends or taking her to the Shed - as it was called - to fix cars. The receptionist looked after her then. We were fine. Then I was given to my dad when he got out. I stopped remembering then. Soon after, he started hitting me. I wondered if it made me inhuman that I didn't cry when my father died. Then I got up and walked back to finish watching the movie.

( XD. Would there be much point for another trial of that murder? She's been dead for seven years, and since (I think) this is based in America with the death penalty, would they bother since George died? If Khari's dad wanted to do something about it, he'd have to be a cold case detective. (Someone who goes over cases when new evidence comes up. :P.))
