We walk up the stairs and into the apartment. I open the door and step inside "Brown, got any new status info?" I say while I walk through the door. |

"You can't be serious." Zero says, following Veritas.
"Unfortunetly, I am. Follow me." Matt turns to the right, heading to the Intel room.

There's a sudden pounding sound, and Brown yells something but you can't understand what it is. |

Veritas turned his head over to Zero, his shoulders sagging a bit from having to do another mission already. Still, he obediently followed Matt along. He contemplated on what he would do once all of this Company and HERO business was done. |

Nick climbs over the rubble and darts out of the building, out of sight.

Zero smiles slightly at Veritas "I ain't happy about it either, but you get used to it." she mutters quietly, so that Matt doesn't hear.
They arrive in the Intel room, which is already crowded.
"The Company, or at least that's who we think it is, has yet again launched another attack. They've wiped out yet another sub-base, killing everyone. However, they only took one thing, a laptop. We've traced it, here." Matt says, pulling up a 3D map, and pointing to a building marked as Company.
"That's right in the middle of Company territory!" Zero says. "You SERIOUSLY want to run a mission THERE?!"

I unsling my assault rifle and charge in, the other 3 behind me following a similar course of action. "BROWN!" |

Perdire sprints after the boy, running over the rubble yelling, "Nick? Where are you?" |

Brown and a man in a black suit are rolling around on the floor, fighting. The Company man sees you and disapears. |

Nick is nowhere to be seen outside. |

(I'm amazed the guy is still alive after getting into a fight like that with Brown. He got Brown where Brown was best.)
"Time to move out. They've got a fix on our position we need to get a new one. Load the gear up." |

"There's no need to shout." A man in his late 50s comes out from behind a pile of rubble. He's wearing a grey suit with a black tie and dark blue shirt. |

Veritas wanted to complain about Matt's mental health, jokingly of course, but said nothing. He only gave a nod. |

"Ah yes. You don't recognize me do you?" the man says. He holds up his hands, and sparks of blue lightning dance around his fingertips. |

"For a LAPTOP?! You. Are. INSANE!" Zero says
"Yes, for a laptop. A laptop containting extremely sensitive information, a laptop that, in Company hands, could destroy our entire operation." Matt says, an irrated tone to his voice. "But it's not you two that's going after the laptop. We have a few teams set up for that. We need you two to go after the beast that tore up our sub-base." |

Veritas listened closer, getting a bit more interested. He leaned forward slightly. |

"...A beast? What?"
"This was not a clean operation. Someone, or something, went in there and tore those men apart. It tore apart the entire base. We assume it's one of the newest Company expirments." |

We gather up the computers and the extra weapons and ammunition. Sharps picked up the old .50 cal. anti-tank rifle that we had kept around but never used "Looks like we'll be needing this" he said. (The old .50 cal. is a WWII era weapon. However large, bulky, and hard to move around it was it can still take out a modern APC. It couldn't take out the heavier of the tanks though.) |
