To prevent people creating several posts on the forum about this topic, here is the main page. I've tested out the lag limits and what it does, so now I know a lot about it.
Here's some things you might want to know:
->Freezing during gameplay? It's not just you. It's everybody, but PEOPLE get it at different times.
A lot of people think that the lag depends on the server, and how old the server is.
WRONG.
It depends on the how long the PLAYER has been there.
->What the Lag does:
It freezes EVERYTHING. A brick flying through midair, CHAT, Other players, SCRIPTS, anything. The only thing that doesn't appear frozen is you.
Once you begin to lag really badly from being in the server for more than 30 minutes, you will begin to have Frames problems. FPS (Frames Per Second) Will go WAY down. I was in a server for an hour, and I got a frame every 5 minutes.
What is a Frame, you ask? A frame in this case, is pretty much the connection to the server is as best I can put it. So once everybody freezes, take notice of where everything is. That is a frame. Imagine this: I got a frame every 5 MINUTES. I could not talk to others, I could not look at others, I could not use many tools, because this lag freezes scripts.
->Chat Lag:
When the chat lags, you pretty much begin to talk to yourself. But when you get a new frame, you just get the latest position of the players and what they've said, and the new brick placements. But this is just one frame. You can't think that you can now talk to them and think the lag is gone. You only got 1 frame of the game. It's back to being frozen. You pretty much get lonely.
->Random Stuff
When a new player joins, you probably won't be able to see them after freezing gets really bad. After you get a new frame, you will probably only be able to see their humanoid. I haven't proven this, this is just a guess.
When Scripts break, I mean scripts other than tools, and sometimes tools don't work. I tried opening a door that opens when the owner of the house touches the door. It didn't open, and I tried opening the blinds to the windows. Nothing happened. The door and blinds probably did open, I just didn't want to stick around for 5 minutes to see if they did.

The new update, for sure.
Also, the new hat glitches. If you're wearing 2 hats, I think you're fine, you're not contributing. But if you are like some people who are wearing TWENTY OR MORE HATS, then yes you are contributing to crashing roblox. There are well over 500 people who are wearing more than 10 hats, and that's over 5,000 hats right there. Look at me, I'm just wearing 2. There are probably another 5,000 people who are just wearing 1, 2, or 3 hats. That's up to 15,000 hats. So take it from me, if you are wearing over 10 hats, reduce it to 1-3.

Some players get lag immediately, some players take 30 minutes.
Maybe it DOES have to do with Server Age. |

Remember back in the 09 days, when there was something HUGE going on the forums were flooded? And now we're getting a post every 5 minutes or something? Or maybe it's just because its almost 2 AM where I am lol

is their a way to stop the lag well atleast the lag will go atleast tell the nd of summer my mom saisd every time around summer hse sees me lag crazy any ways if you find a way to fix it ir uf yiy dont pm please i go to a game 10 minutes i lag i seen a person have 265 hats glitch he didnt do much lag but when he took his hat off it blew up with lag any way im where 3 hats thats final but if you solv the lag please pm |

I get this freezing too. First it starts to get laggy and then it finally freezes. I have no choices but to reset the game. This get annoying!

Well yeah. Theres some people who do that.. probably 10-15 of them. or more. I don't really know the numbers. but 10-15, that's about 2,650 hats, or more. That plus the thousand of people who have around 25 hats (2,500+2,650) plus the hundered thousand people who have 1, 2, or 3 hats on. Pretty much, hats are taking up a lot of memory on roblox I think.

Thank you for posting this...now I am reasurred that it ISN'T my computer. I keep having a feeling that a ROBLOX update had something to do with it, for me this started about a week ago, but I don't know when they do updates. And does anybody have a way to fix this, or is it actually a roblox problem and I'll just have to wait to play games again? |

For all we know right now, this is Roblox's problem. We can't do anything about it. Some people claim that they don't know what we're talking about, but that's because they are extremely bored and go to different places every 5 minutes.

some times it happens 1st 5 minuts of a new server, other times i have been in old servers for half an hour to an hour when it happens.... i agree that server age dont have any thing to do with it, for me it just happens randumly |

You know, a lot of the problems of roblox could really be solved (except for stuff like glitches and stuff on the roblox site) if they got a better engine. I don't really know what kind of engine, but they need a newer and better one. I think somebody posted earlier about a memory leak? That is plausible. I think Roblox has reached the point where it's been running on primitave softwear.
Want to know what's even weirder? What we called 'primitave' 20 years ago was stuff that was was barely running. What we call primitive NOW is stuff that is over years ago.
'Primitave' is becoming a very loose term XD

I don't beleive server age affects it, different people just begin to lag at different player ages. I always lag after about 15 minutes, it is ALWAYS around that time, no matter game im playing or server im in. |

Well this helped. Time to play more competitive pokemon untill the new servers come in, or roblox makes an apologie to us for ignoring our pleas to fix this. |

I was worried that it might be my comp.Sometimes my character cant move when i m in the beginning.But after that I can move but the problem ur talking about is I am frust about.Alexnewtron now are making gui's game.Such as apples to apples.Ro pictionary.I hope he make more because we cant stand this lag since more than 1 hat update.I just wear 2.ROBLOX should make fix about this.I mean really ROBLOX only make UPDATE not fixing.I say to ROBLOX please spend ur time to fix this thing.Easter hunt is gonna come geez I bet theres gonna be more lag.WHO AGREE WITH ME? |

True. If Roblox ignores us past thier big fire update, they might see that theres only 6 people on the site, and they are employed by roblox. :P
I also don't understand why people would try to hack roblox, as its a childrens game, and gets you no-where in life. Lol. |

GUI games are uneffected by the lag...
Which is why those are the only games I can play. |

Cool. In that case, all these obbys and things that clutter up the front page will die, and only pure scripted games can stay. :D
Of course, that means that some places like Survival 303 will go down too. :O...

The obbies are still simple, and lag doesn't bother me whenever it happens on obbies. Since obbies are really supposed to be multiplayer those are fun to play, even with that lag bug. |
