"What if we drifted off course before the crash? I overheard the pilot saying something about the compass spinning around. I bet it settled down, and he was following that direction but in reality we were off course. Eventually he had the heart attack and died."
I stared out at the ocean, still wincing at the pain.
"When the tide comes in it will wash away the wreckage. We can't stay here for long. And we can't go in the forest, because the moisture would be so dense we wouldn't be able to lit a fire." |

"I suggest it we build our shelter on the edge of the forest. The tide won't get us, and we're nice and close to a source of water and food."
I pointed to the sun.
"We have about 6 hours before nightfall. We should build a shelter now." |

"White birch trees don't grow on tropical islands, John. The moisture will stop a fire, trust me. You'd need a bhutane lighter to get a fire going in the jungle."

I wake up. "Ugh, my eys hurt so bad...Wait a minute! I stand up, and fall back down. "Ah my leg!" I put my hands around my leg and feel. "Not broken, but defenintly swollen." I mutter. |

"You can make a salt filter. It filters out the salt and you have fresh cold water. Of course you'd need alot of material to make one. And you can make condensers and rain catchers...there's many alternatives to a spring. And you could get a river or brook. Running water, when boiled, is very fresh and cold."
