You know what? I am SO SICK of hearing "Oh my God, did you hear Eenie Meenie by Justin Bieber? It's SO GOOD! And isn't he SO HOT?" or "Ke$ha is SO AWESOME! Animal for the win!" or "Lady GaGa is the best artist who ever lived!" and also "3OH!3 is the best band that ever existed!" all the time. It's very annoying for me to hear people drool over artists who won't be remembered for more than five years, ten max, which is NOTHING compared to bands like The Beatles or The Rolling Stones or an artist like David Bowie who have been remembered for now 5 decades! And you know what else? Not only do all of those fads use auto tune, but their songs are about love, drugs and same ol', same ol' topics. There are great modern bands like Phoenix, The Strokes, Paramore, Muse, Broken Bells, Civil Twilight- and there ARE more -but what I see here in front of me is just ridiculous. And don't you DARE reply defending these "musicians" because there's something called an opinion which I- just like all of you- am entitled to it.

@Insane I never said I hate America. America is the "Land Of Oppurtunities" and people came here to live their dream, and I love it. Don't make stupid assumptions because I don't like that kind of worthless music.

I like where you are going with this. But modern day bands that will probably be remembered for a long time- Avenged Sevenfold, Dream Theater (They'd be rubbish w/o Portnoy), Skillet (Yes, I'm aware they are a Christian band, but the Awake album has more hidden messages), Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin and so on. Not only are they making music, these bands have been here 10+ years. And they are rock bands. Not washed-up, mixed up pop stars. Now, Eminem is actually preety good. I'll give him that. But the emotion, the music, the lyrics- all better in rock/metal/metalcore/hardcore music. Arguably the BEST band though- METALLICA.

My favorite band, Linkin Park, was around in 1990. They are still making music (Not that long, though.) Their music nowadays is cool and all, but nothing compares to songs like "Nobody's Listening, Faint, Numb, Papercut, Points of Authority, etc.

Oops. I meant 1990's. Their first album was in 1999. They were making music for a few years before their first album came out.

"or an artist like David Bowie who have been remembered for now 5 decades!" WOOHOO GO PEOPLE WHO LIKE DAVID BOWIE! Yeah, these people won't be remembered. The music business used to be about the music, but now it's about the business. What a sad, sad time. *Blasts "Lucy Can't Dance"*

I used to love david bowies music. Now im a little tired of it but it still great. Dream theater, metallica, iron maiden are the only bands today that i still think have good songs.

You speak of the bands in opposition to mainstream music as if they are still popular today which they aren’t. Also don’t give me the stupid “mainstream bands/artists won’t be popular or even remembered in a couple years” argument, since you have no proofs of the statement. Which means it renders the statement an opinion or belief. What happened to all those 80’s one hit wonders weren’t they forgotten?

What makes you think mainstream musicians are fads?

Kesha is a mainstream musician who makes pop music.

@Mendezio More music comes along. Once they stop, no more chart-making songs. Thats how you get remembered in that industry of music. Have hits. If you have only maybe 2 good records, too much "Better" music will come on top of that... There were good pop stars in the 90's.. No one has remembered them. Becayse everyone now is like SOO popular, and they have a decent 2-5 year thing. Then a year after that.. You have like disappeared from the planet.

Look at this weeks billboard top 100 (multi-genre) artist/band list and see if Metallica is still there. Face it, they were forgotten; your music isn't Gold.

@Mendezio And your music is gold? Metallica is very much remembered even if they aren't making hits. FYI, Metallica is an 80s band. If you knew what real music is, you would know that.

My point was to disporve the belief that fads are a thing of the 2000's. Which was a implyed aspect of her (maybe his) rant. -- What I don't judge. Also why is mainstream music popular;what do people like about it?

I don't know why mainstream is popuar. It's stupid, annoying and meaningless, just like mosquitos.
