ROBLOX For the 3DS will have to be on anthor engine -_-

... -_- Yeah. Because making another graphics engine just for one game that won't even gain profit is a wonderful idea. -_- And besides, ROBLOX didn't even make the graphics engine it currently uses. ROBLOX uses the OGRE engine.

@beep (Roblox - ORGE ENGINE) + 3DS ENGINE + Recoded To Function = Roblox 3DS

i thought the games on the 3ds were gunna be a few Gigabytes big maybe 1 gb or 2gb. and what if it was seperate and had seperate servers. club_penguin have 2 games for the normal ds. so a adapated version of roblox should be fine for the 3ds. this even might be a way to get some more tix and robux into our actual accounts through wifi

The 3DS's processing power is undisclosed, however at the current rate of the hand-held semiconducting industry, I'm estimating that the 3DS will have 128~512MB of RAM. That's enough to run roblox on low detail, with 400 bricks before it starts to lag if it has 512MB of DDR RAM. Alienware doesn't make the best in gaming, Tyan does. I don't remember Alienware having a 250GB mid-sized computer that's commercially produced.

400 Bricks on low detail is good enough for me!

^The default places have more than 400 bricks, and most games have upwards to 10,000.

400 Bricks is good enough to build a decent house in group build.

True. Oh, and this is with no anti-aliasing, no bevels, no textures, no shadows, no dynamic lighting, cull distance is 50, and framerate might be in the 20s. MIGHT.

@Ke Shadows are defaultly off, and I'm okay with that. We don't have dynamic light BTW. But, a cheap non-bevel roblox on a 3DS would still kick bussum!

Yeah, we do have dynamic lighting. We've got shadows, and we've got tints. That's dynamic lighting.

Also, if you'd like to transcribe robloxes' game engine from HTML, C++, Lua, and develop a new version of OGRE/Direct3D/OpenGL/OpenGL Legacy specificly for a 3DS, be my guest.

HTML? TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLO! More like XHTML. Oh, and we just swap the engine to a 3DS Compatable engine, do a lil recoding to fit the 3DS and BAM!

You try to make it sound so easy, but why haven't you developed a 3DS version of Roblox? You've got everything you need. You've got a version of robloxes' current client, so why isn't it made yet? Because it's more difficult to transcribe that program than you say so. Roblox has been trying to get it's client available to Mac users for a while, and their still at it. It's just another OS, yet it hasn't happened yet. It isn't any different with a 3DS.

roblox needs about a dual core and i doubt a 3DS will have 2 cores

#31072915Saturday, August 07, 2010 8:25 AM GMT

Not really. I've ran roblox on a single, dual, and quad core processor. It isn't about how many processors really, but more about how much muscle your RAM has. 0~2GB is risky 3~6GB is moderate 7~12GB is plenty, and enough to run roblox on high everything. No chance of lag. +12GB is just an overkill.

Wont it be hard to control your robloxian also? i mean almost all keys are used on a keybaord for soem games just think on like a 8 button thing

well I suppose they could use the pen and pad for the mouse, and the directional keys for moving.

but roblox now is failing on a pentium 4 with 4 GB trust me with all the new stuff they put in

#31073382Saturday, August 07, 2010 8:48 AM GMT

Well yeah~ Roblox is failing in multiple aspects. Also, your computer probably isn't lagging, odds are that it's the server that's lagging. I mean~ I still use my old computer every now and then for roblox, and it can run roblox just as well as my good computer.

well what if instead of trying to port Roblox onto the 3DS, why not create a roblox 3ds game made from scratch that would work for 3ds. the game would have a story mode, build mode, and online mode story mode- an evil hacker has taken over roblox and you have to stop him and his evil noobs, (roblox could have a place contest and winners get there game created as a level in the game) build mode- use the touch screen to move bricks, and would use a similar version of lua as a scripting program. online mode- play and download other roblox 3ds games, and play with others ppl (maybe even use the microphone as a chatting option) i think this could work, since roblox made roblox awesome they could do it for the 3ds

No. -Not enough memory on the 3DS. -ROBLOX would more likely lose money than gain in this situation. -Lua is not compatable, with ANY DS. -ROBLOX would have to pay to start up this project. -ROBLOX would need to hire many more workers. -A new type of 3DS would need to be built (Due to lua not being compatable). -Even if it did work with Lua, LAAAAAAAAAAG ALERT!!!
