Calsifer rippled with tension at the stranger. "Yet, I have never told her that there is a way to give her heart back."
Shattered glass sounds from the hallway nearby and Calsifer goes quiet when he sees me standing, wide-eyed, in the hall. My hands twitch, having them be empty because I dropped the glasses I was holding. I turn around and go upstairs, a few moments later, my door slams shut.
