this is actually from a book it's called "Life As We Knew It" but this just explains what would happen to the world if an asteroid hit the moon. Ok so here it goes...
An asteroid is heading towards the moon luckily not earth...scientists say it's nothing it's been going on for a long time and it's exactly how moon crates come so everybody is planning on it the day when it finally is coming everybody is excited holding parties and as you see the asteroid coming towards the moon everyone cheers, its comes closer and closer and then suddenly it hits the moon
the moon slants and gets hit closer to earth everyone freaks out theres a case of widespread tsunamis on the coasts of the US then suddenly everything goes bad there is no electricity, and the statue of liberty is washed out at sea and people drive away speeding in there cars reception goes bad
next thing you know schools and markets shut down there is no more food to come around and people rob the stores and throw money at the cashiers society has gone crazy.

Most of the states then become underwater and half of the people in the US die, volcanoes violently erupt, and earthquakes become global electricity turns on and off now and then and everything begins to get colder the Moon is visible day and night and is very big when you stare outside (because it is close to earth) ash from volcanoes erupting blocks the sun and there is no sunlight thus no crops will grow... by the time Ocotber comes It is already winter it is violent and without heat it is very cold in houses...some people die from coldness, disease, or lack of food. deadly flu spreads and diseases spread
