About to do a bunch, ONE MOMENT (or several) |
|
|
1st batch:
pizzaglow86: A bit sloppy. You show ability to put solid color over certain areas but that's about it. For instance, you put a cut out picture of a leaf on your beanie but didn't do anything to make it look 'knit'. Same with the fabric. You need to explore more tools and techniques.
fireant14: You just posted a link to this thread :P try again
jahmiel: Actually pretty good. I like how you put a reflection in your yellow shades. I'll let you in, but know that I want more than just recoloring. The summer shades should be the minimum quality for your posts. Keep learning. ALSO YOU NEED TO REQUEST TO JOIN IN ORDER FOR YOU TO LET ME IN, PM ME ONCE YOU HAVE.
tomtom00: Sorta like pizza. You have the ability to use solid color but not blurs, renders, layer effects, etc. Work on technique. Also for your dominus computer bot you just took a different object's texture and put it on a dominus. Nice try :P
z92: Alright, some noticably good things. If you did indeed generate the tie-die and swirl patterns and didn't rip them off the internet, then good for you. I need to see more of you using area-specific renders, though. Meaning, don't just tie-die the entire square, make your pattern actually match the mesh. More things like the blue fire.
aduro779: I'm not going to go through a model to look at them all, way too much time. Please make a set and post a link.
linkocat2: Good, like the commy comerade. I'll let you in on the assumptiom that you'll clean up your work a bit. It looks a bit sloppy (too blurry in some areas, weird coloration). If you do that then you'll fit in great. Also you need to request to join to get into the group. Do so and PM me.

Hello, it's me again. I've decided to remove recolors and add in the ACTUAL retextures. So here's a good set of 'em. http://www.roblox.com/my/sets.aspx?id=221047

I don't really know. It's been awhile since anybody's really posted anything, except for applicants. |

Saveaseal posted about a week ago:P Just give him a little more time;D |

ROUND 2 (or 3? didn't actually count): THE SORRY I HAVE BEEN REALLY BUSY WITH REAL LIFE WHAT-HAVE-YOU'S BUT NOW'S THE TIME
Madsony: I see a lot of 'taking a premade image or picture and pasting it over a solid color and/or premade background'. Need to see you working with the actual texture to create something cool and new.
sampire: Really close to being there so far. I want to see you working more with original textures. Your fedoras are cool but I don't know if you rendered the plaid texture or copied it from the interwebs. Also, look up how to create cool text effects and image enhancements for your protest signs. Black on white is a little too plain for roblox.
Jblaze1: Recoloring and hue/sat ability is there, but you need to learn tricks to enhance your retextures further. How to make a hat look like felt, fur, a helmet like steel, stone, glass, etc. If you use paintdotnet, check their forums for tutorials. If photoshop, same thing. Gimp, I don't know.
Darknut: Pretty good coloring ability, but try to render some effects over the top of it. Go above changing the color, essentially. Like for a battle helmet, try adding some flame or crack effects (ones that look good over certain sections of the texture, not an image over the entire thing).
rogermoore: Gotta make a set, sorry. I really have no motivation to take any model in game. This takes quite a sum of time as is. Also, branch out. A lot of dominus' doesn't show broad ability.
pinkygirl: Like many people in this thread, you know how to recolor and mess with hue/sat. You need to do more than that.
Heatblast: Really on the right track. Try to make your textures a bit more natural (mainly talking on your dominus: the clock-like things don't blend with the rest), make a few more things, and you'll be good to go.
BROAD TIPS TO ALL: Recoloring using hue/saturation, basic edits over the entire texture, and copypasting images and textures from the internet onto the hat ARE CONSIDERED BASIC SKILLS (if that even) and do not justify membership to the group. Show ability to create new, awesome images and designs.
CHECK OUT TUTORIALS. If you use paintdotnet or photoshop, there is a plethora of knowledge free to access on the internet. Both products have forums full of tutorials on textures, text effects, object rendering. You can also pick up plugins to download, which allow you to do more with the program. If you use gimp, I reccomend changing to paintdotnet. It just gives you more tools, especially with plugins.
And all individual advice above can be applied to any one of you. Keep learning!
Thanks for being patient, I'll do another batch much sooner. |
