Greenland, 1951, July 3rd
After the cold war started America need more bases, and fast to keep up with Russia, along with supplies.
A small pocket of iron is found five miles inland Greenland; it’s on the southern area of Greenland, making things easier.
The base is half mine, half base; the best technology was used for this base, ten years ahead of its time.
Greenland, 1952, December 21st
A runway has been built, but this also makes things a little more interesting… Ice builds up fast on this part of the planet; we have ordered at least seven new shovels and pickaxes to clear that stupid ice!
Greenland, 1956, November 28th
The mine has been expanded, along with the base itself! One hundred workers are being sent for the mine and twenty new scientists have been hired for a possible weapon.
By the way, order new reading glasses, I think my eyes might be improving!
Greenland, 1958, April the 12th
Strange sounds, extending the runway and new workers are being sent, along with a few scientist, how much worse can this week get? The possible weapon is also a huge failure…
Greenland, 1959, January 1st
What a HAPPY new year, two workers missing, five have quit their jobs and one is being sent back home because something almost ripped his legs off, he is lucky he got away with only one broken, I am trying to figure out what caused this to happen but I can’t, he also has no memory of what happened, only remembers running for help screaming.

Well, the base has gone under a huge change, new machines are being sent in, the runway has to be clear by 10:25 AM or the plane might slide off of the runway! Also, some new weapons are now being sent in.
Greenland, 1959, January 5th
Small collapse in the northeast part of the iron mine, should be fixed in one week, no one was injured or killed.
Greenland, 1959, March 11th
As we call know, our commander of the base has died and I will be taking his rank, for I was second in command., we are still trying to find out how he broke his neck.

interesting. I like the idea of the worker having his legs torn off in the first draft, but other wise this ones even better. |
