-Lex- I ran into the library, excited to see what spell and crazy books I could find. I looked through the shelves, found a book called "Minor earth spells", and ripped it out excitedly. I then started reading, wanting to get extra practice before classes. I ran outside to the courtyard, and opened the book. -Minor Earth Spells- Page 1 Uncover earth Have you ever needed to dig out something? Ever wanted to make a mess? Ever had a dog that buried something important mistaking it for a bone and you needed to get it back? Well wait no more, Earth magicians, for we have this spell! *explanation here, along with a detailed picture of someone holding their arms in the air as earth is rapidly taken out of the ground* -Lex- I tried out the spell, but failed. I tried again. And again. STUPID SPELL! RAWRGH! One more time. More detailed. I clenched my hands into fists. I lowered my hands, closer to the ground. I then focused my energy on the ground, as I raised my hands slowly. When I reached around my waist length, the ground started to rumble... About an inch of dirt came out of the ground. YAY

|-Ezoroth-| I had been watching the person that was struggling with the earth spell. "Interesting." I said, wearing my mask, and I take out my dagger, mutter some words, and aim it upwards, while leaning on a tree. All of a sudden there was a mini hurricane on the tip of the blade, about 2 feet tall, half a foot wide.

(Wait. I get an inch of a mound of dirt out of the ground after four tries... Yet in one, you get a TWO FEET MINI TORNADO?)

(BEGINNER elementalist, remember this. You get small gusts of wind, (at first) not mini hurricanes. You must remember, important rule.) "Err, hi?" I ask the elven mage, I could tell, because he had a purple robe on. he had typical blonde hair, like most elves do. "Hello." "Wha'ts your name? Mine is Iza." "Elaron." "... Quiet are ya?" "Quite..." "What element are you?" "Water." "Oh, I'm ice, similar elements." I say, with a smile on my face. "Renno, the name of the other guy staying here, He's Earth." "Thanks for the tip."

(I know, that's why I said I won't over use it XD) I take out a book I had, and I start reading the first spell "Blah!" I say, upset on how weak it is...

(upset at how weak it is? your characters know like, 3 spells, you don't go using good spells to show off. the best my character knows now is how to make minor ice whisps.)

|-Ezoroth-| I try casting the spell, and I luckily succeed on my first try, but all I did was make a leaf move about a centimeter. "God, I suck." I say, then I look back in the book, I read "It should only move about a centimeter, for the first 100 or more times." and I go to the second spell, which was a bit stronger.

(Remember, spells are made for practicality, moving a leaf is not practical whatsoever. lifting earth is, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just enforcing my rules, and some logic too.)

(the spell is probably for building up your strength so you can do more advanced magiks)

(No, you practice with things that help towards the magic, not ones that don't, it doesn't amtter if you can move a eaf, that kind of magic wont help with any training.)

-Lex- GRRRRRRR! Stupid earth! With more rage and focus, I tried again. As I lifted my arms up, mad and focused, earth started to spew out of the ground for about a 1x1 feet hole. Happily, I let my arms down, and started recovering the ground.

-Naran After reading about pheonixes, golems, dragons and hydras, I put the book back on the shelf. I then look around for a book on wind spells. I find one, and then check it out, I then go out of the library, with the book tucked under my arm. I then leave the tower to find the old man who had spoken when I first got here, for I wanted to ask him some questions. I head for Griffin hall.

(Does that mean Earth can use it =D?) -Lex- I looked at the book again. -Minor Earth Spells- Page 2 Have you ever wanted to throw stuff? Ever had an annoying friend that you're weaker than so he wont shut up or stop bullying you? Well this is the spell for you! Like the earlier spell, take earth out of the ground. Instead of just leaving it there, though, make a circle-like formation with your hands (remember, keep fists clenched!), and then push your hands out as if you're pushing a boulder. It SHOULD create a small to large ball of earth that you shoot. *picture of spell* -Lex- I did as the book said and made about a five-inch earth ball, and shot it at a tree. It didn't do much damage at all.

-Naran I enter Griffin hall and look around. I eventually see the old man and walk up to him and ask "Uh, sir? I want to ask you some questions."

Looking at the fiction, I didn't find what I wanted. 'And what do I want?' I asked myself. The answer came back immediately. 'A story about mages and magic.' I sighed. I was not feeling very patient at the moment. I put back the books I had been looking at, and walked over to the bestiary section. The first book I saw was a "mythical" creatures book. Ah, that was good. Just what I wanted. What were the names of the towers? I knew Griffin Hall, but I didn't know Dragon... As I remembered the name of the tower I was in, the rest came back to me, Dragon, Golem, Hydra, and Phoenix. I scrolled down, passing Dragon. I'd try that last, as I already knew something about them, and for another reason... "Save the best 'till the last," I murmered. I continued down to Golem. (I've forgotten what a Golem is. What is it?)
