I ran downstairs when I heard the doorbell ring, narrowly beating Marley to the door. I grabbed the package and headed upstairs to my room.

"Kaycee! What was in the package!?" I yelled.

"It was for me!" I yelled back. I heard her footsteps go away and sighed.

The knife felt cold in my palm. I kept the box. And I opened the door and walked up stairs. |
