We get to the doors outside of the great hall.

"Sounds like everybody is seated. Well, when you enter these halls, you will be sorted into your house. The sorting ceremony is very important in many ways, earn points for your house, and try not to lose them please." I said as I flicked my wand. Somebody jumped up. "And please don't try and curse somebody while their back is turned." I say to the kid, then I turn around and open the doors, leading them to the end of the Hall.

I stop at a stool with an old hat on it, the hall went extremely quiet.
Nathan
"What do we have to do?" I ask eyeing the hat suspiciously.
Nartle
"Put it on probably." I say, then all of a sudden a part of the hat lifts up, and it starts to sing.
"Oh, I might be ragged and old,
But don't think that of me,
I am of course just a hat
But smarter then hats you have seen.
Everything is in your head,
And I see it all,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting hat
And I will never fall.
So put me on for I can't fail,
I'll say where you should be,
For I'm the only sorting hat
And no hat is better than me.
Maybe you're in Gryffindor,
Where rest the brave at heart,
With their chivalry and their courage
That makes them set apart;
Or maybe friendly Hufflepuff,
Where those of truth stay,
The loyal, just Hufflepuffs
Are always for fair play;
But what about Ravenclaw,
Where those with great minds live,
The ones who have such great wit
Are always here to give;
But of course there's Slytherin,
The cunning folk they are,
They will try by any means
To be the best by far,
Now put me on, don't be afraid!
And let me sort you in this hall!
It's great to be here now
And welcome you for us all!"

I take out a piece of parchment and then I call out a name. "Abraham, Andrew." A boy with brown hair and blue eyes, very skinny, and has a very small nose walks towards the stool. I pick up the hat, and he gets onto the stool. I place the hat on his head, and after a while the hat shouts "RAVENCLAW!" to the hall, the Ravenclaws explode in greetings. I then look back at the parchment. "Airheart, Rosetta" I say to the scared first years. |

"HUFFLEPUFF!" the hat shouts out as she sits, it echoed through the hall but was cut off by the greetings from the Hufflepuff table.
(Ok, time to sort some more people.)

I watch as each of the others walk to the hat and get sorted. A kid named Ivan get sorted into Slytherin. A kid named James into Hufflepuff, Elizabeth into Gryffindor, Melissa into Hufflepuff, and then another name was called that I didn't quite hear.

Ugh. ONLY 3 SPELLS?!?!? Well, first of all we should AT LEAST be able to be older than 11 and above our first year. Not everyone is in Year 1. Second of all, 3 minor spells isn't much. For example let's say i play as one of Harry's sons. I'd know extra spells well, because Harry would be my character's dad, and he would teach me some spells. For extra "Expecto Patronum" isn't a minor spell, but it's importannt, therefore someone would teach the students |

(This is my roleplay, and I didn't want anybody to be to powerful. There are people in years other then first but they are NPCS controlled by me. I wanted you to start from the very beginning. Expecto Patronum is very advanced magic, and most witches and wizards even have trouble with that spell, but Harry was a very strong wizard, and was able to get it correctly in a short amount of time compared to most others.) |
