Being a guitarist and singer I'd say rock.
:) |
We're not talking about whatever crap rock you're talking about. Go listen to David Bowie, Queen, or Led Zeppelin. |

The real question should be Hip-Hop VS. Rock, because rap is a sub-category of hip-hop. Since you don't understand rap, you are obviously going to just say rock. Most of you probably haven't heard a single rap record because you aren't allowed to, but you listen to rock 24/7 because your friends think it's cool. Try to listen to hip-hop. It is very meaningful and powerful. |
@AJtn: Actually where I live everyone thinks it's cool to listen to rap. I hate it though. And I hate Hip hop. |

Rock is getting a little old now. The rock music you listen to today isn't even real rock, it's just alternative rock. |
AJ@ I don't even conside it that. It's nowhere near the Alt. Rock I listen to, But proper rock bands are usually pretty amazing. |

Linkin Park, 3oh3, and Green Day are all alternative rock bands, yet most of you think they're actually metal bands. @_@ |
@AJ: They are no way metal. In fact most things called metal now adays shouldn't really be called metal. Real metal is Black Sabbath, Led Zeppellin, Deep Purple etc. |

@The I'd have to say my favorite would be Led Zeppelin. He inspired a lot of hip-hop music. |

Yeah, they. |

Jesus AJ you are so misinformed. |

Alot of rap, is just, terrible..
Competly terrible.
Some rappers though, even if you dont like the artist, and listen to the words, it moves you.
Like Johnny Cash, I never really liked him, but then I watch the music video to "Hurt."
It moves you.
Eminem, listen to "Like Toy Soldiers" , it's a serious song.
If the argument you are using is "Rap isn't serious, rock is about real things."
Yeah, alot of rap is immature.
But dont stereotype it. |
There, jeffhardy is right. |
RAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rock is dumb and all yellyish |
People who listen to rock do better in school than people who listen to rap. I listen to metal, screamo, stuff like that, and I've stopped getting C's since the end of grade 8. A lot of my friends, who listen to today's pop, rap, etc. still get C's in the middle of grade 9.
Rap poisons your mind. A lot of its lyrics are about clubs and drugs. Rock, though, has meaningful, powerful, touching lyrics, stuff we can relate to. Rock is a breath of fresh air from the poisonous gas that is rap. |

@Dark That's stereotypical. I listen to rap all the time and I seldom get anything lower than a B. |

Mainly rock. But there are a few rap artists I like. The only rap singers I can stand are B.O.B and some Eminem |
