"Haunted? Really?"
The boy nodded to the other, finishing his talk of the house, pushing his brown hair from his face. The other thought over it for a moment. The others of the group stood around the small feild outside of town, eating the lunches they brought, or just listening to the story that was told.
"Sounds cool, don't it?" The brown haired boy asked. "It's only about a two hour walk from here. I say we check it out sometime."
I, who had been listening to the story with interest, piped up. "Hey, why don't we go now?"
A few of the others glanced at me.
"What? It's not too far from here aparently, and it's only noon, so why not?"
"I dunno..." One girl said.
"What, are you guys scared?" Vlad stood up, looking at the group. "I think it's a great idea!"
A few muttered their opinions about the idea of the trip to one another.
"It couldn't hurt..." A tall girl said. "I doubt it really is haunted."
"Well I don't want to be around you all when you run out crying after you really do find the ghost!" One boy muttered.
After a while more of disscussion, we decided to do it as a test of courage.
"If we all go together, it isn't really testing our bravery," Vlad pointed out.
"Okay, how about we split into two groups?" I asked. A few of the other nodded in approval.
"The first group will set off, to see if this place really does exist. One of you text us back when you get there."
The groups were divided, a group of 4 and a group of 5. The group of 5 set off, to the west. The four left, Vlad, a boy named Cyan, a slender blonde haired girl, and myself, all sat and chatted as we waited for the text.
But one didn't come.
"Maybe they're phones died? I mean, only 3 of them carried theirs," the girl suggested after a short while.
"That's pretty unlikely..." I said.
"Maybe they just haven't found it yet," Cyan shrugged.
"Pfft, let's just go already, we've waited to long. Maybe we'll catch up with them at the house," Vlad said.
"I guess," I agreed.
"Okay," the girl said.
"Sure,"Cyan said.
We set off towards the west.
"Hey, we reached it in only an hour and a half!" Cyan said, looking at the tall, five story building in front of us.
"This doesn't really look haunted... It barely looks old," I said.
"Do you think they got here yet?" The girl asked.
"Only one way to find out!" Vlad grinned, shoving open the door to the wooden fence.
We all headed inside.
"That's odd..." I muttered.
"What?"
"Everything looks so... clean. Like someone's been in here for a while. Not a web in sight. And look," I wiped my finger on the windowsill, "No dust."
"No sign of the others..."
"Oh well, let's look around!"
