There is no doubt the running quarterback is the most dominate thing in Ro-Football. A player who can make something out of nothing is a highly valued prize. The reason it's so dominate is that not many coaches know how to stop it. On this, the inaugural episode of "The Drawing Board", I'm going to take you into the Ohio State versus Florida State game, and how Red and I came up with the key to stopping the running-dominate QB, Garrett800. The thing about rushing quarterback is that, in their mind, they already have chosen to run. They call the play in their head before they even call the hike. If you can get inside the head of this QB, you can stop the run. Now with Garr, he's going to run every play, and you should plan on it. Let me take you to the drawing board. RedDawg lines up 5 yards off the LoS, Bob lines up on Randy, the WR. This is your run stop defence set up. Garr calls the snap and drops back. Red stay put, but follows him where he goes side to side. Randy runs straight, so Bob stays off him a bit, just enough that it's nearly impossible to throw over him. This shut downs the option that he could pass, even if he wanted to. R is called, and the Crowd is giving Garr heat for not passing to Randy, who is "Wide Open". Garr tries to force the pass, but Bob has set up shop perfectly. Garr over-throws Randy, causing incompletion. Next play, we set up the same way. Garr decides he is going to run, in his head. Garr starts running, but since Red is positioned 5 yards behind the LoS, and Garr is held to 5 yards. The goal of this is to let the QB come to you, you don't go to him. So why does this work? The 5 yard position gives red the ability to close the gap quickly and effectively. The most Garr can get is 5 yards, basically. 5 yards on 3 plays isn't enough. Most of the time, because the range of the tackle tool, you can stop him early. Hold you ground until the QB comes to you, and he can be stopped. That's it for the first episode of "The Drawing Board" with me, Coach Stair. I'd apperciate if you gave any feedback you may have and how I could improve this. Also, leave suggestions on anything else you need to know :3

Forgot to add, if the WR is running a slant or any other route other than a straight route, you want your CB right on the WR

Ok here is the best way to stop Garret leave WR's open if they go like 10 yards and cover garr he cant really pass so if two or more people come his way he has to pass. me and sim did it sim had 2 picks of him. its not hard to ok, yes you'll leave the WR open, but He tried to hail marry durring the game and missed badly. also he threw a pass that was like 10 yards he jumps and misses that why his completion precatange was low agiasnt BC. He cant take an all out blitz to well

I didn't understand half of what you said, but, this isn't only about Garr. This is about any running QB/Double Threat QB

i know it isnt but its one of the best way to kill garr trying to qb blitz him with one or more people when a WR is more then 10 yards out

I'm not talking about only Garr, like I said. This is mostly about a dual threat. You need to learn to read and take something from it, Cdawg.

What about a QB like Rune. When a play call fails he makes a new play call right away. Also with his droping deep from the LOS and jumping to go over the CB?
