Microsoft is older than windows by 20 years. Microsoft CREATED macintosh until macintosh was bought by apple, which then became its own to compete with windows. They then started to compete with features. Mac went for portability and 'apps' while Microsoft went for features, games, and software. The truth is, 'Apps' is another word for 'download games'. You see, Apple is starting to and already has removed the disk drive on most of their models, and has already put in an app store to replace it. Before this happened, microsoft got angry and changed it's line of code with windows models, which therefore means some things compatible with PCs can't go with macs, yet anything for MACS can go with PCs. Microsoft created macintosh you idiot, wikipedia is NOT true, it can be edited by ANYONE, and nobody can stop them, you R-TARD. I took this information of an OFFICIAL MICROSOFT+MACINTOSH WEBSITE YOU IDIOT!

@medic no, macs were created by Steve jobs & Wozniak (AKA owners of apple computers). Microsoft developed some sort of file/security system for there first mac computers though, PC's came shortly afterwards.

The Windows Computers were first used in 1981, running MS-DOS. But in 1983 they got the idea for the visual part of the computer, and 2 years after that (1985), they released their first PC that had an interface.
The Macintosh computers, realeased their first computer in 1984. And I'm not sure if they had a non-visual command line type computer.
Mac runs off Unix, while Windows runs from their MS-DOS. And Linux is also a form of Unix.
Now, (In 1975) Bill Gates and Paul Allen started Microsoft and they later hired Steve Ballmer in 1980 to help create the MS-DOS.
In 1983, Steve Jobs and John Sculley started the Lisa Project which was suppose to be the 1st Apple computer with a visual interface. But Steve Jobs was fired or quit or something, and he began to work with Jeff Raskin to create the Macintosh, he got the idea for a graphical computer from the Lisa Project.
-I'm a little late replying to this topic but I've been busy the past few days, I'm also not positive if this information is 100% correct, I know alot of it is though.
Also Julialy, it bugs me that you have to post on every topic you see, you don't know everything and half the stuff you put is biased that Macs are better then Windows, and the other half is usually spam.
You also brought up a month old topic just to say "No."
(Also awhile back Julialy, you argued with everyone that the computer you had was fast, I'm not going to bump the topic just to say this, but my cell phone is faster then your computer, that computer is to slow.)
