Difficulty of an action is not a static, global variable from person to person. Some may think it's hard, others easy. I, for one, think it's very easy as well. However this would greatly decrease the time needed to create the gui, instead of putting in multiple numbers and testing numerous times to get it right, where you could instantly move it where you wanted without worry. One of the things I hate about the numbers is that if the denominator of a number in fraction form is not part of the 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, etc series, it creates a long string of decimals. For example, typing in 0.1 gives you 0.100000006 or something like that, and in my opinion is a pain to change, much like those e numbers. So for those of you saying that this would be pointless because it's so easy, think about others before yourself and stop being so selfish.

@turma: LUA IS NOT AN ACRONYM. It's Lua, which is Portuguese for Moon. @Thread: GUIs are just inserting objects (like Parts), then changing a few numbers in the Properties window. If you want to script a GUI, it's just like learning how to script a door or anything else, you have to learn it.

@SW777, actually I'd put my money on the GUI, you have to layer,size, and position a GUI using the properties menu. a brick is just inserted then moved around all willy~nilly with the mouse.

I hate that you guys are against simplification and convenience. It's been made clear that it's easy to set properties of GUI, but what if it was made even MORE easier and stress free?

@tofwap Sorry, I guess you're right. How dare we have different ways of learning. You can grasp the concept just by reading it. Some of us need to see the results, this just leads to countless frustration just to try to figure out how to do one thing. The idea behind the GUI Creator was to: 1. Make creating a GUI easier, without all the measurements. 2. Be able to apply text and such. Or at least, that is what my idea is.

@Swim Yes, but some people are not like you! Some people have a difficulty understand a concept than others. Sorry if we are not at your calliber, regardless if it is "easy" to do or not O-e.

@tof Tru dat. But I totally agree with you when you said that people are too impatient to understand the wiki. They read it in like 3 seconds, then complain to us that it's too hard. If they'd just sit there and _try_ to _comprehend_ the wiki, then they'd get along just fine.

@King Italicize? No Emphasize? Yes

How much do you bet, if someone suggested a tool to make scripting easier and more convenient, it would also be bashed because "it's so easy to do."

There's a few problems I forsee with this idea: 1. What if I want to resize/position a GUI in Scale instead of Offset? 2. What if I can't get my GUI to be placed or resized to EXACTLY the right measurement? 3. How would I recolor it?

@Swim 1. That option will be available, like resizing a 2D brick. 2. Then the inability to leave the page should be enabled. So that when I place the GUI down, some of it won't be offscreen while the other part of it is within view. 3. That option could also be available under the properties bar.
tofwap
#42500382Sunday, February 13, 2011 11:55 PM GMT

"1. That option will be available, like resizing a 2D brick. " no he means scale vs offset, scale is like 50% of the screen while offset is 500 pixels on the screen
