He is right, though I don't believe it has to do with us. A lot of us just brag about advanced classes, though I don't believe I've ever seen grade bragging (other than the GPA bragging I brought about in another thread, but that showed how bad our grades really are). I for one will admit that my quarterly grades are terrible (mid 70s in Geometry, English and Science, mid 80s in my History class. My other grades were good, but probably because they're incredibly easy classes (95 in Latin, 100 in Intro to Engineering Design)). However, midterms are probably where any of my high grades have come from (98 on Latin, 97 in Science, 89 in Geometry, 87 in History), though I did have a low grade in there (75 in English). I'm currently failing both Geometry and English, though only because I never do my homework. If I did do my homework, they'd both probably be mid 80's or so. However, I would never claim to have straight A's because I don't, and I'm not that bright of a child (though I will admit it's hard to get straight As in advanced classes). |
