UV mapping is common among 3D programs and software, such as Blender or 3Ds Max, but what about ROBLOX? People who make Texture art shouldn't have to make more than one texture to fit just one model or brick. But what if we could use one texture and wrap that around or on a brick or model in game? One texture that would go along all sides of a brick or model or mesh.
For those of you that don’t know what UV mapping is, I'll give a verbal example. Let's say you have a model of a barrel. To texturize that barrel to look like a barrel, you have to fit 4 decals around the circumference of the barrel, then two on the top and bottom of it. But with UV mapping you can use one texture to fit the entire barrel. It's basically making a 2D image represent a 3D models edges or qualities.
