I'm near completing a huge game, and I just have a couple more things to make. One of the things on this to-do list if filling a relatively small cavern. I want it to contain some kind of puzzle that the player must to solve in order to pass. I simply don't know what to make though. If anyone has any good (small-ish scale) puzzle ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm an excellent scripter, so don't hesitate to post, even if your idea seems like it would be difficult to make. It doesn't *have* to require scripting though. Hope to get a good idea, --Vitos

How about: 1) A sliding puzzle, like a 4x4 where you need to get the pieces into the right place and one spot is missing? 2) A turn all buttons green stlye puzzle, like the first one at my Test place?

You could try a Towers Of Hanoi puzzle. I wrote a little game to play it ages (ages) ago. It's on my showcase right now. Bear in mind the GUI is shaky because it is old and hence uses the old fashioned spawn-a-local-brick-infront-of-the-camera-with-a-decal-on approach to GUI development.

Thanks guys, great ideas. I might use more than one of them, actually :)

Maybe a game of Connect Four with an AI? That would be more challenging.

Chess. Or Tic-Tac-Toe against a bot that plays perfect games.

"whywouldntyoudothat.gif" Because the Romans didn't use the letter J. In any case where it should be used, there is normally an I. Only after the decline of the use of Latin did people start to use the letter J in place of I for some words.

@"Every cavern needs a slidey ice puzzle." Even the caverns in Pokemon have a slidy ice puzzle.

It's veni vidi vici, and it means I came I saw I conquered.

@LPG, that's exactly what I thought of. Apparently, the official trope name (I'll spare you from the link) is "Frictionless Ice".

@LPGhatGuy & Anaminus Haha, that's actually what I was trying to model it after. The first thing I googled for the potential puzzle was that slidey thing in the Team Rocket Base in Blue, Red, and Yellow Vs. But alas, my cavern isn't quite big enough to fit any such layout that would be applicably difficult. You can tell the Pokemon slidey ice idea was originally what I was thinking about by te thread topic "Floor" puzzle :D

What about the slidey ice puzzle in Ruby & Sapphire (and Emerald, I guess)? If you were able to replicate that, I'd be very impressed.
