Asylums are only for crazy people. They're only for the insane. The demented. The paranoid. Asylums are just for lunatics, right? Wrong. Sometimes they're for lunatics in the making. Scientists have been desperately searching for cures and causes for brain disfunctions and diseases; such as depression and schitzo.phrenia. Is it just genetics that are passed down that causes this, or is it due to life changes and events? The everlasting 'Nature vs Nurture' debate. Which is worse? How can this be prevented? Is there a real, actual cure? You, being the humble, respectable, helpful member of society you are, decided to help with their never ending mind racking questions. They set up a station, where you can sign up for a free testing/experiment. You signed it, only reading the part where it said that you would be granted 100 dollars for participating. Little did you know what the test/experiment was. You are dropped off in a lab, and they ask you many life questions. They have you sit down on a cold metal counter. They roll up your sleeve a little and tap the inner part of your arm gently. A man holds your arm down as a woman appears, with a needle filled with a greenish yellow fluid. They inject you with this, not telling you what it is. "Confidential." Was all they said when you insisted they tell you what was in the needle. They send you off on your way home for a few days. You are instructed to live life like normal, and come visit them again in three days with your belongings. You come back in three days, seeming much different. The scientists grin and nod, once again injecting you with the same fluid. They take yout out for a small drive, and drop you off at their very own asylum for tested people. While living here, you will live in either a small cell or a white padded room. You are no longer addressed by your name. You will be given a subject number, and will be adressed as so. If you are a good little patient, you will be able to eat with all the other subjects in the Cafeteria. If you are kind and mind your manners, you will be allowed to use plastic utensils. If not, you will be restricted from using anything, and must eat with your hands. If you are either a naughty little patient or just don't like socializing at meal time, you will be allowed to eat in your cell. You must be escorted out by gaurds if you want to leave your cell. No going outside. Everyday at 9 am, 3 pm, and 6pm the scientists come in and inject you with either the fluid or give you a small blue pill. You never know if they're just injecting you with more of the disease, or giving you the cure. But you seem to be caring less and less day after day. You start to lose your memory of your outside life. You then start to morph in with the insane. The demented. The paranoid. How long will you last before you're just another lunatic? Rules: -Use good grammar and spelling. It doesn't have to be perfect, but do try to keep it looking nice and ledgible. -No breaking out of the Asylum. -You get three characters maximum. (Accepted. ^-^) (Sure, we can start.) Carly I sat in my cell, staring out of the bars. The scientist was going to cell to cell, handing out patients' daily doses of medication. I stood on my tip toes, streaching my neck to get a good look at him. I was trembling slightly, my eyes wide.

Carly I was many cells down from obtaining my medication. I sat down, violently shaking. I looked to the empty space at my left. "It's okay Allie. He's going to reach us soon." I said in an unsteady voice. (Note: Allie is Carly's hallucination. Allie is sort of like an imaginary friend for Carly.)

Carly A scientist approached my cell, smiling in a way that looked incredibly happy. It was obviously fake. I insanely copied his crazed smile back at him, my pale blue eyes gleaming. "I have your medication right here." He said, handing me a glass of water and a few small blue pills. I grabbed them eagerly, swallowing them down.

Guard I heard one of the subjects asking about a socialization area. I turn and look at him, twirling a pair of handcuffs in my hands. "We have a few rooms like that. Only seven are allowed in at a time. It's only a little walk from here, would you like to go?" I ask. The room wasn't much. An empty, white padded room. That was all. Carly I overheard the gaurd and threw myself at the bars, my arms flying out at him as if I were trying to touch him but the bars were holding me back. "I want to go to the play room! Please?" I begged.
