i understand i just posted a thread but i am on a roll today so dont ruin it plz :D
anyway we all know lag has been a problem from as far as you can remember right?
well i am sure roblox does not have 9000 computers to act as a server instead 1 high tech comp probably holds about 20-50 servers. so the server lags sometimes we get it now let me get to the point yayz
we can have a option to host our own server that way it can financhily help roblox and might make people happy also with this feature you can have unlimited players so you can have as many players as you want till your computer crashes wont that be fun?
and with this feature we could probably lower the cost of builders club.
now here is the bad stuff o i hate negatives
--------------------------------------------------------
the bad stuff
but dmaster my comp is from the 1980's runing a 2 mhz processor with no gpu and a outdated graphics card did i mention its running ms dos?
well to bad for you get a new comp at least you want have to pay to run a server
but dmasteri got a bad connection well
get at&t i dont even know how you play roblox
but dmaster i.....
while true do
wait(1)
x = Instance.new("Explosion")
x.Parent = game.Workspace
x.Position = game.Workspace.Noob.Head.Positon
end
that takes care of that i hope none of you have any negatives or you shall end up like that guy
jk
n
so please share your opinions if you even agree by a bit please post roblox needs majority and i like people that post it helps me understand what roblox wants.

Lag is impossible to fix. Well to much stuff lag is easy to fix. But lag comes from the connection it is truly impossible to fix lag.

so then get a better server lol
or get a better router
and private servers will benifit this because the private server could be within your state thus less connection distance |

The BC Price is fair enough.
Making the Host a Server thing would cost ROBLOX a lot of money.

"or get a better router "
Makes me wonder if you even know what you're talking about. |

@Pugzy, he doesn't. Notice his own question
"but dmasteri got a bad connection well"
And he replies with
"get at&t i dont even know how you play roblox "
I'll let you find the problem with this statement, shouldn't be hard.
This wont fix roblox lag and wont reduce BC price. MEANING that this suggestion is absulutly pointles.. |

This will make more lag in my mind, destroy our computers, and cost ROBLOX more money to set up.

it should reduce cost on bc because they dont have to run every server 24/7/365 |
|
|
Thats what you think...
~Punkster1234567, Creative lazor~
P.S. They do have to run server 24/7/365 |
|
|
What do you mean by hosting a server? The person that owns the place hosting all servers? Or the first person that joins hosting a server? Please explain in more detail. |
|
|
the person who made the place will be hosting the server. |
|
|
|
They could fine tune their servers to run like the ones on Minecraft and other things like that. But if they were to get servers like what Treyarch, Activision, etc have then roblox would have little to no lag. |

Running servers from our own computers would probably just make everything worse. Plus, if you were to actually run it yourself, you would have to spend about $1700 on a decent Alienware computer to hold ONE server (i.e: 15-20 ppl). Imagine how many Alienware computers you would need to run a front-page server with 2000 ppl on at one time. Not so easy now, is it? (look below)
2000/20 = 100 Computers needed at about $1700 per computer:
1700
X100
----
$170,000 total out-of-pocket cost.
It would partially reduce cost (maybe) for the larger server capacity. But, it would make ROBLOX have to almost completely redo its connection processes, not to mention the impact on your own network. More money, more money. So, BC would partially be reduced, correct? The money that ROBLOX would need to reroute those connections to your house would cancel out that reduction, not to mention raising it more and (possibly) making ROBLOX a completely paid game.
In conclusion, it may be a solution to a little bit of lag, but it would destroy ROBLOX and, not to mention, your network and your wallet. So, this is a pretty bad idea. But, I'll give you points for trying. |
